MemberFacehuggerMar-24-2017 4:16 AMJust out of curiosity, how many of you want to see the Deacon explored in a further film? How many of you could go without it? Personally I think it's a tragically underused idea and hope it gets developed further

MemberFacehuggerMar-24-2017 4:19 AMI would also love to see the deacon again :)

MemberFacehuggerMar-24-2017 5:20 AMI would like to know more about the Deacon. I mean, not much excited to see it again, to be honest, but since it has an Engineer as a host, I wonder what characteristics would be enhanced in this boy, how would be his behavior, his possible inheritances from the Engineer... his 'modus operandi' so to speak... if something more animal like the protomorph, or something closer to a more "rational" creature...

MemberPraetorianMar-24-2017 5:32 AMI'm kinda fond of the little D-Can.
There wasn't really much point in introducing it, if there is not going to be any follow up. I hope we get to meet a little baby all grown up.
Can you imagine what it would be like?

MemberFacehuggerMar-24-2017 7:14 AMHonestly, I can do without the bloody thing. Never liked it anyway. To me it looked kind of silly. Same with the trilobite. They can in future movies refer to it, but I like for the focus to be more on the creatures we know and love.

MemberFacehuggerMar-24-2017 7:21 AMAs much as I was so excited to see it born and rising, I could do without that bambi looking thing..

MemberChestbursterMar-24-2017 7:25 AMCouldn't care less about the Deacon. Didn't like the trilobite/squid/octopus, and I didn't like the Deacon. why it's called the deacon is kinda silly too.

MemberOvomorphMar-24-2017 8:45 AMI would love to see the deacon return! That's definitely something I would love to see further exploration of in future films. We barely got a glimpse in PROMETHEUS? I must say I wouldn't be disappointed at all if it should show up in ALIEN: COVENANT... considering that it's looking more and more like the beasts are gonna own this movie anyway. I haven't anticipated a movie like this in years! Everyday (sometimes every hour) I check in on this site! Constantly reading the terrific commentary by like minded, interesting and very intelligent people. I can't say enough... I can't wait until May 19th!

MemberOvomorphMar-24-2017 9:34 AMI wasn't a fan of the Deacon in Prometheus but I wouldn't mind seeing what it looked like all grown up or if it behaved differently. The Alien from the original film is what really gets my blood pumping.

MemberTrilobiteMar-24-2017 12:49 PMI can do without the deacon. It felt like a tease at the end of the movie- straight fan service. I would not mind seeing something like the hammerpede though.

MemberDeaconMar-24-2017 3:26 PMI think some clues to it would be helpful but i dont think they can fit it into Alien Covenant, but i think surely it could be brought into play in future movies..
Even if its a slightly different form...
We have to assume any Weapon Containing the same Black Goo we saw in Prometheus with the same strand as those we saw in Prometheus... when used with Females could lead to a Deacon.
Which would also include those Ancient beings on Paradise, and looking at the AC Poster posted the other day, i see evidence that the THING at the Top of the poster is related to the Trilobite
Lindeloff had hinted the Deacon could lead to the Xeno, but then he also teased the Hammerpedes too.... well both of these Events could have happened in the Ancient Past too.
Native Worms + Black Goo = Hammerpedes
Male and Females + Black Goo = Trilobite
And so indeed the clues are there to show us Paradise has Females and Males in the past and LV-223 had worms way before the Prometheus mission.

MemberDeaconMar-24-2017 3:38 PMI would think the Deacon would not change much as its a Adult just be more larger and aggressive looking
Above is how the team behind Fire and Stone Comics envisaged the Deacon to look and we have to remember this is just a sketch and in comic book format.. so a on film Adult Deacon would look more Menacing.

MemberFacehuggerMar-25-2017 11:56 AMLove that concept art. If we see it again, I will be quite happy, as I think the Deacon should've been introduced earlier in the film and had more screen time. I hope it shows up either here, or in a sequel. Maybe itll show up in the final act who knows?

MemberPraetorianMar-25-2017 6:23 PMSeeing these are prequels to Alien where assumedly the Xeno becomes the end product of Davids experiments, it would be good closure to the trilogy to see a Xeno vs Deacon battle. The human-based DNA Xeno confirming its Apex Predator status over the Engineer-based DNA Deacon.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2017 7:13 PMDeacon may have stowed away aboard the Juggernaut...maybe it interferes with David's or Shaw's landing job on Paradise....would be am epic flashback scene, but who knows

MemberNeomorphMar-27-2017 9:04 AMNo thanks
The reason why the Deacon worked is because it gave us a clearer link to Alien. It worked in the context of the movie but I think that they should be more tied to Alien and there are better ways to do that.
The Hammerpedes were alright but too far from the Xeno if you ask me even though they showed in an interesting way how the goo worked. I don’t really want to see the Hammerpedes again, they were not that interesting.
