I still like Waterson. I have no issues with the women pictured, but Waterson was like Weaver in that she was strong yet vulnerable and wasn't sexed up. They were regular people.

ali81 and joylitt It seems the Xeno has to be present by default in some form since it is called Alien imo. The franchise seems to be headed toward David's story arch though. So I see three major things the focus is on: Xeno, AI and Engineers. Somehow, there needs to be a balance. I don't have an answer- just throwing it out there hoping we can chew on something!

I think the birth of the Deacon at the end of Prometheus set the direction for Covenant. Same thing with the facehugger embryos at the end of Covenant. There will be xenos in the next film but as Ridley Scott said it will not be centered on xenos.

And the whole idea that when we would create a "perfect" AI, it would also want to create a new AI and wipe us, unless we can't control? That is stupid. If it is more intelligent than us how do you do that? If you go for something like Transcendence why kill off the character who could act as a controller..

too many people want to see the xeno or some form of it as shown by the bad feedback for Prometheus.personally I think they made the right choice where Prometheus was concerned as it gave us a more in depth alien universe and Prometheus opened doors a classic 'alien' movie couldn't. we need a xeno vs engineer vs marine movie with flash backs to give us the engineer backstory into their connection to the xeno, why they chose humanity to be wiped out and whether they serve a higher power or not.
I don't think that would be feasible, specially if that movie is going to connect directly to the first Alien. AC is the one installment that could have managed without the xenomorph, but they did what they did already.
I admire the effort and appreciate the story. I just wish both characters would have died.
After the xenomorph got chomped to pieces by the crane and scattered over the plaza Scott also said that it would re-grow (or words to that effect). Plausibility does have its limits!

Scott says that David’s choice to pour the tea immediately, with no reaction, shows that he’s political, and therefore dangerous. He’s biding his time and choosing his actions wisely. I took it as David figuratively doing a territorial pissing on PW looking at how the scene was filmed.
Other than that and as others have pointed out accurately- RS says a lot of things.
The cynic in me thinks they are waiting to release scenes on future blue rays- the special edition, the authoritative edition, the super duper edition, the parents' basement dwellers' edition etc...
Ati I remember that discussion. It would be gruesome to see her as a birthing machine depicted as HR Giger imagined. I doubt we will see that unfortunately. It may also conflict with RS' vision vs JC's.

The next thing you do is have that A.I. create or invent an equal A.I. - so David will create an equal A.I. It means another robots/androids or the xenomorphs?

Some of us were talking about the possibility (here some months ago) that alien eggs were grown in Shaw's body then these eggs were taken out later.

Thats a Good point regarding those organisms growing in the crew in the Promotional Material on one hand it shows they do Promotional Material and Clues that Wrongly send us down the wrong path. Which leaves some to think the crew was infected with these Organisms.
But these pieces of work are something they can certainly take inspiration from for the next movie.
Some may also read to much into Davids " all he needs now is his Queen" quote, this could be something easily misinterpreted like the "waiting for Mother" In Alien Covenant, which i think basically just meant Davids Creations needed a Surrogate to Grow his Creations, thus a Human Host would in essence become the Womb for the embryo the Face Huggers implant.
so a Queen does not have to literally and the more shoe-horn/lazy route that a Daniels being infected with one of those Face Huggers Produces a Egg Laying Xenomorph.
There are many ways Davids Queen could come to be, Alien Covenant appeared to give some clues that Dr Shaw was needed in order for David to obtain those Eggs... which means she was his First Queen so to speak... but this does not mean she laid Alien Eggs..
So indeed it will be interesting to see what happens next... so far we have David and TWO Face Huggers, it appears likely David is off to Origae-6 where he wishes to pursue the creation of many more of his Creations that could Rule the Galaxy... But before this can happen he needs his Queen.
Which means there is a way/plan that David has where perhaps via one of those Face Huggers or maybe some other means... David can obtain multiple Eggs.
There could be some scenes that was longer when shot, that dont even make it to the DVD/Blu-ray Extras.
Prometheus had a number of Scenes not even on the Extras, and even some Alternative and Extended Scenes that also never made it to the Extras.
I would assume maybe the same could be the case with Alien Covenant.
All I want is classic looking scenery, in more horror genre not sci-fi, no big brany humans that give no shit abot anything and do theirs weird shit that I’m not interested, just no epic, just desperate lonely fear in isolation, dark space around, shining flares in wet and burning ruins of a ship, cold blooded killer named Xenomorph walking around and wipe off all the crew except one officer that brings the alien to whatfuck kinda death (ish).
Surely the location does match up to the beginning of Prometheus and Alien Covenant Prologues.. It therefor can lead to speculation that Weyland had been to Planet 4 or certainly the location of the Sacrificial Scene in Prometheus.
My Personal Opinion is the connection is more a Philosophical one and a Easter Egg to a degree, its merely to show that we had the Creation of Mankind in that Scene with that lake and mountains. And that they was showing in AC that we are now seeing the Moment of Weyland Creating David. And so the Mountain/Lake is there to connect to CREATION the Chair and Painting also connected.
But i can understand how this could be seen as this means Weyland must have had knowledge of the Engineer Sacrifice Location, way prior to the events of Prometheus (i assume the AC Prologue is the year 2025, but who knows what changes they have made but it certainly is set in the 2040's at the latest).
But i can see how some may think this means Weyland had this knowledge, and some may even see the connection to Paradise 4 and then be drawn to the Weyland company must thus have been to Paradise way prior to Prometheus.
i dont buy this as it does not make sense towards Weylands Agenda.. unless Weyland is revealed to have some BIGGER Agenda and its revealed at the end he uploads his Soul to a AI and that all the events are all part of a Long Well laid out plan by Peter Weyland.
But as the Scenes are the same location (which is actually on Earth) but as far as the movie goes could be any place... i can see how some can come to other conclusions and there is no preventing them from having a opinion on this when some imagery can support it.
These kinds of things happen a bit with AC where we can read too much into a visual clue and come to a conclusion that was never intended... One Example is the Classic Xenomorph Egg and Chest Buster with Davids notes on them.... this would lead people to speculate that David had either encountered the Classic Xenomorph or he had Created it but then further Evolved it..
But maybe this was just a concept work and Easter Egg that was left in the movie that some may end up reading too much into... we see many Easter Eggs and Concepts... there is a Classic Xenomorph drawing in Davids Workshop there is even a Prop of a Organism David experimented on or created that is a Prop made from one of Gigers unused Chest Burster Concepts... the Chicken Burster.
Prometheus could be Guilty of the same thing... who knows if the Mural and Frescos had any purpose, other than to show Alieny looking Organisms and it looked Cool.... much like the Alien Covenant Poster.

Now talking seriously, probably one of them can be incubated in a human's womb. If there is any truth in the promotional material with the aliens growing inside the crew, that is what might happen. The womb can become the egg, and the subject can become a queen, if his dna is intertwined with alien dna.
They are so cute! I would use them as Christmas decorations, and hang them from the Christmas tree!

some scenes are open to interpretation, they could be as you said but then also David could have created and grown the Eggs and then performed Autopsies etc on the Grown Eggs. As samples.
Certainly the Embryos could have came from Smaller Eggs.... It would have been interesting to know how these Eggs came to be, but its a bit ambiguous, but it appears its likely these Eggs start to grow until they finally reach that full height of the ones in the Egg Catacomb
I wonder if RS will touch upon any previous Engineer encounters and experiments related to the Xenomorph, as the Mural and Frescos in Prometheus seem to show a previous connection... the one Alien Covenant poster was very interesting and seemed to show us Engineers and various Xenomorph types... but this poster had nothing to do with the Movie.
Maybe such a event of that poster happened in the past? or maybe its a event to happen in the future.. I think we have to accept the Xenomorph will be a Creation of David or at very least a Creation Evolved from Davids Xenomorphs in Alien Covenant (so Engineers can still have a input into Davids Creation).
We however do know the Engineers had came into contact with a related Organism and maybe experimented and created various kinds on LV-223, the Deacon and Neomorph are both very related to the effects of the Black Goo.
We just have to have faith that this time they can do it more justice and maybe cover the reasons why the Black Goo has the ability to create related Organisms.

Indeed its quite a open subject, the Trilobite that came from a infection from a more closer interaction with the Black Goo did grow at a very quick rate, not quite Neomorph Speed, but faster than the Classic Xenomorph from Alien.
The Deacon is a tricky one, it depends really the time frame and if the ending of Prometheus was in Chronological Order, if it was and the Deacon did not Chest Burst until after David and Shaw had left LV-223 (well the time Dr Shaw made that Warning SOS) then the Deacon would have taken about 4 Days to Gestate.
I think the fast growth rate in Alien Covenant was simply a necessary Plot Device considering the time restraints of the Movies running time and number of Plot Elements it wished to cover.
They could have had Oram be found unconscious and taken to the Covenant Ship and then Chest Burst there, thus meaning ONE Organism, but this would have raised a few Questions.. Such as what kind of Protocols are in place especially after they witnessed the Neomorph events.
They logically would have not wanted to take a unconscious Oram on board, with Lope it was different as he was awake and well apart from a Burn on his Face. By removing this and only have Oram as infected and he was taken to the ship, would maybe make the Gestation time a bit more longer... But then the Chest Busting to Adult would have still had to been quick.

DK-The Alien franchise is such a great franchise. Its one of the few pre-sold franchises, meaning it doesn't have to do too much marketing. Its a build a huge fanbase on its own. Many more stories can be build around it. Hopefully. In the meaning I'm considering to try to expanding it with a Lead in and a final battle in the next few months.
FantacularTV_1 We have had discussions about off shoots as mini series, Netflix shows etc. That would be great if it could happen.
I liked her dad from Law & Order (Sam Waterston)...a real stone face assistant DA with good one liners making fun of criminals and the time they faced. So, Waterston as Daniels worked for me to begin with. I thought she was great in Alien: Covenant. She was convincing in her grief..my opinion.
The prequel novel has so much more from Daniels, Lope, Rosenthal, and Branson and my opinion may be skewed because of this character development in prequel novel. Sergeant Lope is the main character for great portions of the novel (a great thing).
If Katherine Waterston wasn't available for Daniels then I would throw all my support behind Bryce Dallas Howard. She could be my hero.

Jones, it was great, stressful writing a 10 page script casting it and crewing out within 5 days and then trying to shoot it all in less than 8 hours.
daliens-Thank you for the compliment. They have my short along with a few others who shot there. Everyone else did some comedy skits (which I also did as well, releasing in a few days) or reviews or reanactments.
My project was an original and cinematic one. From what I read on Internet rumors is the studio possibly wants to reboot the prequels. I'm trying to develop a different story that is an extension of the Alien franchise stories. Maybe a web series with Fox Studios and Youtube Red. Obviously with a bigger budget and bigger cast.
