With the constant updates on their viral marketing website, there are more and more theories arising. As many of you may have already seen on the "ABOUT US" page on WeylandIndustries.com, there is an evident "blinking" star in the lower left hand corner. When checking the source file and CSS dtylesheet for the webpage you can see the image is called "/img/findme.gif". Can anyone spot a star consolation that this blinking star is located in? Is there any evidence in this image that can be pulled to further expand our knowledge of PROMETHES? Also, I've read that the blinking star is a form of code. Like binary, or Morse code and blinks in a specific rhythm. A few forums are trying to decode it first, can anyone here lend some time towards solving this mystery? We know we're on the right track because Fox's official Prometheus twitter page "@PrometheusMovie" recently replied to a user talking about de-coding the blinking star and they replied with "You're halfway there...". Ive been overlaying some images over the flashing dot just in case and I think that possibly, the flashing star is actually the star from the Zeta 1 Reticuli system which is the system Alien is based in [img]http://pics.mobog.com/Grindolf_fullsize_37CD55D5-1231-3802-084E0E2BE840B345.jpg[/img]

Could be the moment life is created. The shockwave type thing towards the end could be a sort of jump start used to the jockeys, the first steps of life breathed into whatever were looking at. It seems to be fluid like, maybe the goo from the ampoules?

kast iron im seeing a face lol time for me to go to bed but i dont see a mouth or nose, only the eyes look at the big gray one on the far right, i see a bald head and eyes, but its also 3a.m. over here, and i might be seeing things lol

OK, here's a question that I don't think has been addressed - The "planets" in the map room... what are the rectangular looking things orbiting them? DNA reference files on a 3D interface?

I'm not sure but has the fact that the blinking from the weyland sites "about us" page matches the location of the planet in the new star map photo? Haven't really looked just noticed it for a second.

Think those spheres might just be nanotech under an electron microscope. Maybe David's white blood. I think the chromatic aberrations and jumping is just there for effect. We know Ridley likes video distortion. Think of the shot of the derelict in Alien and the flash frames in the Prometheus trailer.

Hey Bio, Sorry for the name mix up. Was kinda late last night. Anyways you're probably right about it being Lorem Ipsum with the exception that when using lorem as a place holder you usually tag it as lorem ipsum in the first sentence. Not everyone does tho and I think its really weird that a random fake text generator will put in urns, rapid growth, gods, landing, change, and etc inside the first two sentences of fake text in a movie that is about all of those. Nicely spotted Dface! I hadn't noticed those symbols there before. They seem to resemble the hieroglyphs seen on the set below. Interesting detail there. @ Rick - I don't know if your latin translation on page 2 was actually URN, or if it was meant to actually be CHURN as mentioned in Biomechanic's translation on page 1, or not...but here's a little rearrangement I came up with using *some* of the deciphered words you posted on page 2 - [b]Through fear, our actions start to adapt hidden urn to grow where secret society of gods take up gloomy landing place.[/b] There are plenty of similar permutations using your words, but I quite like this one.

I just lifted the jpeg and adjusted the brightness/contrast. Because we don't know distance to earth as depicted, we no reference to establish the field of view, making constellation id difficult. In any case, IMO this does not appear to be a real starfield being used in this particular piece of artwork. Also, the blinking dot does not appear along with other stars clearly visible in the image.

just saying but that's the back of a chair in the centre of that picture so that's the console to bring up the SJ chair / cockpit I guess.... The picture of david must be from the other side because there is no chair next to him in the film still

it is simulating an accoustical beacon that repeats at intervals of 12 seconds....duh! And if Ripley decoded it correctly, it IS a warning.

I can't even see the blinking star but I was just semi quoting a line from Alien about the alien transmission...a line spoken by Cpt Dallas. Be nice if the font on the forum was the same as what was used as input into Mother from the terminal.

Ahhh I get your drift.. The funny thing is that the WOW signal is 72 seconds long. Which would mean that the signal was sent 6 times...

OK so I may be WAY off the mark here, but using what little I know of morse code patterns, I attempted to copy what I found and, well...threw it into a morse code translator. I know! I'm horrible. But if anyone cares, this is what I got: ...._..// "HI" ... "SIS" So maybe some combination, resulting in "HIS IS"? or just HIS something...or THIS IS....

It is way more complex than you think and it doesn't resemble any Morse code sequence, unless you recode to 012 sequence using scales. The GIF has 237 individual elements, with 13 unique codes and hence rule out simple DNA ACGT sequencing, but is close to nucleic acid notation which has 15 codes based on IUPAC. . Element is 237 Neptunium, by product of nuclear reactor and plutonium production. Room 237 is the possessed room in the Shinning ;) That is just the start...

Sorry my mistake. Actually I just looked harder and there are more values of grey with only slight variations. Have you noted the color values RGB or CMYK of those colors. Someone should take the color value and the time duration and plot them in Excel and make a nice graph. : )
