So, with Prometheus passed and the DvD and BluRay coming up for release, we here at Scified.com want to engage the artistic fans here and across the globe. We want you to design and post your own version of what you think the adult Deacon Alien will look like or could look like in Prometheus 2. To make this even more engaging, the most detailed and interesting design artists will win a Prometheus poster! We can allow up to 3 winners to start, but if more submit their works, we can always increase that number so that more artists win and get something for their hard work!

How can we tell if it's genuine? We ask that somewhere on the piece of art you add your site display name here on Scified.com, small in the corner, or under your signature if you so choose to do so. There are already a lot of artist renditions of the Deacon on the internet, but what we are looking for are NEW artwork pieces. So post yours here! It can be any kind of art, from digital to paint. Just post it as a reply to this thread and each day I'll check in and see the artwork! After about 3-4 weeks I'll announce the first batch of winners. I realize creating truly immense works of art takes a lot of time. The contest will remain open until our supply of poster giveaways diminishes. So, anyone can win and show off your talent at the same time! So start your work today share with us your vision of the adult Deacon! Get creative!

Bella, well done, i like it! HAL. Thanx, but how do i get the right size? Like Belladonnas, i don't want to paste it and it's small. I mean, can i rezise it on this site when i go to paste it? Or do i have to do it in photobucket?

nice idea space! i should try that, ive drawn a lot of queens but never tried with an eggsack before. thanks for the idea! necro, my bf scanned the pic for me and it was HUGE... like 3000 pixels high. i used a free photo program to re-size it, then i uploaded it to photobucket. i have both photoscape and faststone image veiwer. you can get them both free at [url=http://download.cnet.com/]DOWNLOAD.CNET[/url]

thank you :) i just finished outlining what i call "TrilloDeacoQueen" lol i need to shade it, not sure if ill add blue like my other pic, maybe i should since there is so much going on... i may need colors to help it not look like such a cluster f**k!

thanks! i normally would have made the female more... anatomically correct but i didn't want to get in trouble hehe. should be interesting to color... i didnt expect to add that many limbs n tentacles but pencils have a mind of their own!

I love the style of both... think I prefer the less Gigery version, but even that is a vast improvement over the creature seen in the film, which looks like its not fully formed.

@Bella - very cool "Queen" rendition of the Deacon! Personally, I kind of have it in my head that the Deacon is "male", or a "King" Alien if you will. After seeing concepts of such an Alien in the comics, it kind of resembles the Deacon more than an actual Xeno. But your vision of it as a queen is spot on I'd say, really cool! @Leeta - Nice work! Very very cool! What did you use to make that? Paint or was it digital? I almost can't tell! Either way, fantastic work! @Sky - I like how you went with the "Mural" pose. Very neat. You should use that and perhaps make a giant mural with the Deacon in the center! That would be cool! But nice work also! The artwork from you guys is incredible! Really enjoying reading this thread! :) Keep them coming! And @Punx, can't wait to see what you come up with dude! I bet it will be intense!

thanks chris :) after i actually was going to do a much more masculine creature after im done with the queen. its going to have much more space jockey DNA. i also envisioned a "king alien" but i would have made a large retractable breeding appendage similar to the tube coming out of a facehugger's or the trillobite's mouth except in the lower reproductive region... i figured that would be a bit too adultly graphic for the site.

I drew this using just a 6B pencil. The actual image is terrible because i've only got access to the laptops cam. I should be getting my digital camera back soon, it is currently being fixed, so when i do, i will take another picture of it and post it again. For the time being, if you can zoom in on it or enlarge the page, you should be able to see more detail. BTW, the dark area above the jaw is not an eye. It is the recess in the jaw area. @necro I like that. I also see the developed deacon with same head. Just to take the design away from original xeno. Nice one. I see like me you are also using darker pencil, and it worked out really nice. :)

Thanx Sky. I will be posting it again when i get my camera fixed, the image should be alot clearer. I've always prefered using pencil to paint, i think it gives the picture a darker, spookier feel. Plus i'm colour blind so it would probably turn out pink lol

nice!!! you have a very nice smooth texture, i use pencils myself and i cant get anything near that without smudging with my finger and still doesn't look that nice and soft. any special technique or pressure you care to share? ^_^ **edit** color blind!!?? i am legally blind without glasses and still very poor eyesight with them. so far it looks like many of us artists cant see for crap, and that makes no sense lol. why do people who cant see use a visual medium of expression, any psychologists in the house? :)

Thanx Bella. Yeah, i rub 'gentley' (that sounds rude! lol). and sometimes i brake a little bit of the eraser off and erase little areas of where i've shaded to show where the light is hitting that particuler area.

aaahhhh! i rub pretty hard (also sounds rude lol). i never thought of erasing reflection areas!!! i normally draw a pale outline for light reflections and just dont color them in, but it does lead to shading/color inconsistency and poor texture because i am trying to avoid that area. thanks for educating me on a new technique! love the smooth seamless look, appears very 3-D to me.

Wow! Awsome work guys! @[b]AYillustrations[/b] - Very detailed and nice, but very classic ALIEN. Still, an amazing piece of work! @[b]Shawluv:D[/b] - WOW! Really well done dude! What did you use to make that? (And staff are not excluded form this contest, only I am! Haha) @[b]necronom 4[/b] - That's really good! Damn! I can't wait to see the finished product! You've got a great start there, I really like how it's a soft shaded sketch, yet a lot of details are still visible. Fantastic job! These are great! It's gonna be really difficult to choose winners! Keep them coming guys! Oh, and there are [b]NO[/b] limits to the number of submissions you can make. You can draw 6 Deacons and submit them all! Really enjoying this thread! :)

Haha well if you think it would be too graphic then maybe refrain from it. But a lot of Giger's works were sexually suggestive, and we allow those. But it's up to you as the artist. ;)

nice! i was wondering since as you stated, gigers work is extremely sexually suggestive which has been pointed out many many times. the "appendage" would be more of a tentacle or the "tube" a face hugger extends, and (pardon my phrasing) but the "tip" was going to be spear shaped and less phallic. i was wondering if i could link the drawing with a warning instead of posting it?

Thanx Gen. It took me quite a long time, about 2 hours. For the lower part of the skull (jaw area), i drew from a picture of a real human jaw. For the rib cage, i drew from pictures of real human ribs. The head, or cranium area, i made up. Glad you like it!
