I just ate a PB&J...I was gonna watch The Martian..I saw Exodus Gods and Kings yesterday for the 6th time and liked it more even though it's hated by many sadly...

I dont think we need to worry about Hallet and Lope, i doubt they will be portrayed as very Camp as a lot of Movies would portray Gay Men.

So we are not to expect them being like this..

Aside from a bit of banter, like we saw in the Last Super Prologue which i think the movie will have less of a relationship vibe to them...  I think it will be the despair on Lopes Part as he loses his Partner that will hammer home they are in a relationship more than anything else.

I mean i dont think its going to be thrown in our faces every 5 minutes... oh look we are a Gay Couple etc.

Something just occured to me while I was pondering mentioning how I fit in, as I am Bisexual.

The LGBT thing, is innately and criminally discriminatory.
It's uninclusive, and hypocritical in claiming to be 'inclusive', as well it's makes an outright Offensive statement of Position that it takes vs people who it does not represent/cover/include...

why?

It doesn't include all the known sexual gender-types...it includes all others, except for Heteros and Hermaphrodites.

I'm NOT kidding, and I don't care if anyone's 'offended', this is a valid point supported by the fact that Hetero people exist as do Hermaphrodites, and are Un-included in the LBGT Inclusiveness ideal.

joylitt Actually no worries lol! The interweaving trolls are getting complicated. This has been one of the best troll threads I have ever seen on this forum!

Switching topics now..The Force Awakens was spoiled for me months early on Making Star Wars....It was kinda a letdown...I didn't believe at first but then I saw the movie..

@Ati it started out being a normal thread but became a troll thread accidentally due to it's controversial subject matter that's why I closed the topic..

Dad is out of town on business and the siblings went nuts.

Jem587, OK, but I think it was a very interesting and relevant  topic and I wouldn't call it a troll thread. It is/was full of exciting comments. This is not trolling for me, but OK, it's only my opinion.

Oh my god guys.  Everyone is welcome on this site I'm sure.  Stop trying to force everyone to celebrate your sexuality.  No one cares.  Its an alien covenant web site...

The only difference I saw was that the "trolling" was identified and became obvious, things started to get back onto interesting things and there was no intervention from staff/admin. This was a good thread imho. Yes, I trolled the troll too but there was no fighting.

Yes, it's an alien covenant website, and the movie will feature a couple in question, so it's relevant and we can talk about it, I think it does not mean a celebration - but OK, if you don't want it, let's jump...

I don't think that review was particularly hateful at all.  A little insensitive, maybe.  But the person is expressing how they feel about what I assume is a perceived militant homosexual/leftist agenda being forced upon them, not anything negative about homosexuals themselves.  As I haven't seen the film yet, I can't comment as to whether the portrayal of the gay couple seems to be promoting such an agenda, or seems excessive in any way.  But from the looks of it, I don't think so.

Although promoting such an agenda does seem to be somewhat of a popular trend in media lately, it seems this person is reaching and overreacting.  It's very annoying and somewhat disheartening when conservatives go searching for bad guys where there are none, and whining about things, much like the leftists they mock for doing so.  

As for the inclusion of a homosexual couple in Covenant itself, it seems pretty natural to me, and not at all excessive.  When dealing with a mission of colonization, couples and sex are a natural part of that.  So it makes sense that among a bunch of straight couples, there would naturally be a gay couple, as homosexuality is not at all uncommon.  

The only thing I can see going against a gay couple in this situation is that they're not ideal for procreation.  But that doesn't take into account what other value they can add to the mission, which really depends on their personality, skills, merits, etc...  Also, they add 2 more sets of genes to possibly be used if things became dire and such an action was necessary.  

I don't think the inclusion of a gay couple in itself is progressive, as homosexuality in media is pretty commonplace nowadays.  But the portrayal of the couple might be progressive, as gay characters can still be somewhat of a stereotype in media, so a portrayal that strays away from that could be considered progressive.  

Anyway I just want to say we don't know anything about user's identities and backgrounds in here. I just wish to send my support to Jem587 whoever he or she is. Maybe just a kid who was reaching out with a positive message of tolerance, maybe someone who is just is happy that his favorite director finally features some characters he or she can identify with. Not a celebration, just someone having a social expression, something everybody is entitled to. 

Hmmm......says he's gay but he goes with the crowd?  Did I miss something somewhere?

I wasn't going with the crowd. The topic become too controversial so I decided for its own good to close it. People were getting obviously upset so it didn't make sense to keep it going..

There were a couple of us who liked the direction it started to take in the late part when serious observations were being made. Oh well.
