A few days ago, a better look at the Romulus Xenomorph from the poster was discovered via IMDb ads, thanks to CulkyKyle on X.
Comparison with the 1979 Big Chap

The Romulus Xenomorph has lots of similarities to the 1979 Big Chap. Notably, it has a smooth domed carapace with a skull visible underneath, #teamskull.
Much like the Big Chap, the Romulus Xenomorph also appears to have a spinal back horn, and a thin tube connecting to its jaw.
The shoulder tubes on a Romulus Xenomorph are quite different from those on Big Chap. They look closer to the shoulder tubes of a Runner from Alien 3, at least to me.
*July 13, 2024 Edit: The Romulus xenomorph does have digitigrade legs. Smaller tubes on its back, a barrel chest, loose fingers not conjoined, and an awesome-looking tail.

Hey Guest, want to add your say?

Some folks received a VHS of Alien Romulus, not the actual film, still pretty epic.

Xeno on the cover

A nice look at the Xenomorph, from the cover of Total Film magazine.

I can't wait for the NECA to show the Romulus figures.

Another piece from Total Film:

And I can't wait for the NECA figure either! Preparing my wallet now... lol.

Xenomorph cocoon, and the barbed tail peeking out of it. It reminds me of something...

It kind of does.

Another analysis/comparison I couldn't help but make.

Spotted on X, a Xenomorph on display, at some undisclosed cinema.

So that's the "scorched xeno"? It must've been subjected to extreme amounts of heat considering the xeno in Covenant crawled right under the Lifter ship's rocket engine exhaust unscathed.
Also love the aesthetics, very reminiscent of the xenos in Alien Resurrection.

A few more pics of the scorched xeno model. The last picture is brightened with HDR to make the details a bit more clear

Another still of the Xenomorph in hunting pose, with its tail pointed towards Kay.

Much like the Covenant Neomorph and Xenomorph.

Love the dark atmosphere in Romulus from everything I've seen so far. Partly reminds me of Ron Cobb's nightmarish industrial interior designs.

The NECA figures really give us a closer look at the differences between Scorched and Big Chap. Notice the hands and feet are dramatically different - there seem to be odd appendages on top of the feet and the hands are elongated far more than in other designs:

I suspect the Scorched and the Xenomorphs on board the Romulus were not authentic replicas of the original Big Chap / Perfect Organism but another imitation - spliced with other DNA or tampered with in a way. It certainly looks that way - even the misaligned jaw, head crest shape and disproportionate body parts compared to its genetic predecessor.

New still, of what appears to be a different Xenomorph.

The new TV spot was uploaded on the 20th Century Fox India YouTube channel, it features some new footage.
Andy says "Stay quiet". In the previous clip "Kay's Escape", in the presence of a Xenomorph, Kay doesn't move or make a sound and the Scorched Xenomorph leaves her. Makes me wonder if Scorched Xenomorph only reacts to movement.

there are tons of TV spots with different languages and each one showing a few brand new footage. I kind of think they are revealing too much but at the same time I am excited. All these scenes look amazing and very Alien Isolation like.

The new teaser shows some new footage.

We get a look at the practical chest-burster, and as suspected, there's more than 1 Xenomorph.

Introducing Rain, they're not holding back with new footage.
And what the hell is this, a new egg?

CGI in all glory but practical effect xenos are still superior imo. There's something even more creepy with their slower, stiffer movements and robotic animatronics as opposed to lightning quick, tension-killing xenos and neos where you almost can't tell what's going on.

Alien: Romulus's early reactions are positive.
Folks say the third act is crazy, like you think it's all over but then boom, stress goes through the roof. I'm beyond excited.

CGI when given enough time can look spectacular (Planet of the Apes 2011-2024 films), but a lot of times it looks mid to bad because VFX/CGI artists aren't given enough time and room to breathe in. The same thing goes for practical effects, when done right it looks spectacular. If not, it can look goofy, at least in my own opinion.

Definitely. Both have their pros and cons affected by time, budget and/or talent for the craft but if I had to pick between only CGI or practical xenos I'd prefer the latter given how effective it works in the alien franchise. I do however prefer polished and convincing CGI spaceship scenes and 3D backdrops compared to models and matte paintings despite the nostalgic charm. From all the the bits and pieces I've gathered so far about Romulus, it seems to be right up my alley. 4 days left! If the release date is August 16th for you I'll let you know how the experience was in a spoiler-free first impression post!

I was pleasantly surprised that these weren't these xenomorphs are not the original xenomorphs from LV-426
SPOILER
These are man's first attempt at cloning a xenomorph
