Titan Books have just announced that acclaimed author Alan Dean Foster, who is currently slated to pen the official Alien: Covenant novelization, will also be penning an official sequel novel! Little is known concerning the plot for the sequel novel, for obvious reasons. But fans will be able to pick up a copy of both the official novelization and the sequel novel next August when Alien: Covenant arrives in theaters!
From Titan Books:
We are delighted to announce that both the official novelization and official sequel to Alien: Covenant will be written by the accclaimed and multi award-winning Alan Dean Foster. Alan Dean Foster penned the novelizations of Alien, Aliens and Alien 3.
The announcement of a sequel novel this early on suggests Alien: Covenant, like Prometheus will be tackling some big concepts and despite Scott's remarks about Covenant coming "in the back door" of 1979's ALIEN, it seems the connection may not be as clear cut as some fans might be expecting. This sequel novel will likely help tie up loose ends between Covenant and the original ALIEN.
As new details arrive for both the official novelization and the sequel novel, we'll be sure to keep you updated!
