I just dont see how the Engineers could call that planet their world. Engineers are pale which means little exposure to the sun and that planet seems pretty lit up. They also have black eyes which are more suited to darkness. Unless they are cave dwellers or live underground, this planet does not make sense.

I wonder if this planet also has nights.

It seems that this World is quite cloudy and has many storms and so i think it would not be a really sunny destination, not as far as say some of the more Topical Places on Earth... so has more of a North Hemisphere look to it and so maybe like living in the States of Washington/Oregon or Scottish Highlands.

Well from the Viral Clip the crew seem to be a bit Naive and so potentially silly lol so for them landing in a body of water would seem maybe fine...

I love the Alien franchise, but what is this with crews just landing willy-nilly and disembarking without donning space suits...?

Your right, the engineers are very pale and they do have black eyes.

One possible explanation is that the ones on LV-226 are a different variant than the ones here.

Another explanation is that the inhabitants aren't even engineers but are humans, this engineers seeded life on more than one planet.

By the time dropship exploded I suppose water level lowered down.

I hope that they haven’t crash-landed, that would be too obvious. We already know that there will be some nasty things going on so there is no need to over-do it. They got a rough landing in alien so there is no need to copy it.
