Biosocial Compatibility, Walter, and imprinting

MemberChestbursterMar-11-2017 7:43 AMI've been thinking about all the different ways this feature could be brought into play and have even created a thread for a theory that relies on one possibility.
I am also considering that this may just be a way to explain why Walter doesn't have a British accent (which was probably a design choice for the film to avoid confusing Walter for David and vice versa to the viewer)
In your opinion does this seem more likely to be a character device to accommodate a design choice or does it seem this feature will have deeper significance to Walter's character?

MemberFacehuggerMar-11-2017 8:08 AMI think this could go a long way into explaining why the A2’s were always a bit twitchy. The BS (Bio Social) stamp can act as a regulator for ethical conduct. In the trailer we see Walter doing the right thing at the right time when a crew member is choking. But, a BS stamp could have a form of corrupted ethics. What is right for one person is not always right for someone else. I think there is the possibility for some conflict being caused by Walter’s BS stamp.

MemberDeaconMar-11-2017 8:34 AMI think its both interesting and confusing all this Bio-Stamp Lark...
it depends how deep we read into any of it.... but my interpretation is Walter can somehow connect with the people who own him to match personality and interests.... which is all good... depending on the owner..
Which is why maybe there is the disclaimer.... now if was not for this we could see Walter go to a Home that has Criminal Activities and poor Robot be caught up in the same stuff that Chappie did etc
Also seems once he has imprinted on someone, it cant be undone? or if the imprint goes wrong, and both scenarios there is no refunds.
The way i look into Walter Model, actually makes me feel the potential for Failure and Risk is even greater than the David models.

MemberPraetorianMar-12-2017 9:32 AMBatchpool, I agree. The Biosocial stamp may be the ethical "boundaries" of the customer (through consciousness imprint) going through the process acquiring that individual Walter model.
Yes, BigDave, the Walter model's traits seem to weigh success for the android population at the expense of the humans. Great topic QueenElizabethShaw.
