Large ship hovering above the Engineer city.

StaffNeomorphApr-18-2017 10:26 AMWanted to make a topic about that ship. Not sure if there was already a conversation about it before.
In one of the recently revealed scans from the empire magazine we can see what appears to be a large ship hovering above the "Engineer" city.
Back in 2015,way before anything about the film was officialy announced, one of our longtime members BigDave had spoken to someone who claimed that he has worked on Prometheus 2 and provided some very reliable information regarding the film to us.The leaked info was covered in this article.
One of the info mentioned a concept art of another Juggernaut looking ship, that is slightly different in design.
Citation:
„Concept art on a Juggernaught-like ship, but slightly different in design“
Looking back at the large ship thats hovering above the „Engineer“ city, its pretty much horseshoe shaped and asymmetrical like Shaw and David's Juggernaut in comparison. But unlike the Shaw and David's Juggernaut , that ship is much larger and as mentioned above, is slightly different in design.
It also bears some simmilarities to some of the unused Engineer ships from Prometheus.
I was hoping to see more Juggernaut looking ships in the sequel and I'm grateful to actually see one.
Now I'm wondering, what purpose does that ship has in the film.
If I remember correctly (If this is true), the leak from the SXSW screening described another ship that "entangled" with the Juggernaut.
I suspect that after David bombards the "Engineers" with the black liquid, that larger ship docks with the Juggernaut and something happens.
What are your thoughts about that ship? What purpose do you think it has?Any theories?

MemberChestbursterApr-18-2017 10:31 AMi think that one end of the larger ship looks familiar to the bird faced characters head from the murals. might be a bit of a stretch but im very interested in this character and feel we may even get a peek if not in covenant then awakening
Take This.... This is the blood of our lord

MemberFacehuggerApr-18-2017 11:45 AMIt could be a red herring shot, the ship may be rotating to synchronise with the juggernaut.
the lv223 engineer didnt appear to need another ship so i think its a sentry ship which does something to the juggernaut if/when it finds out its bogus.

MemberOvomorphApr-18-2017 5:17 PMThe descriptions from the con footage plainly stated that the juggernaut connects with another ship before David emerges and drops the payload.

MemberXenomorphApr-18-2017 5:22 PMDN, GDL, Sherris, and myself discussed this briefly in BD's Planet 4 Post. I/We think the Scorp Ship may be another humanoid race since their are multiple iterations of humanoids. It looks much more advanced than the Juggs and it could be why the Juggs crash landed on the planet.

MemberDeaconApr-18-2017 6:00 PMIndeed i remember those claims.. ;) The Source had said after summer of 2016 it appears that Alien Covenant is a aftermath movie set after the events of the Prometheus 2 movie.
This has recently been confirmed the last few months.
I find this design interesting, it appears to lack a Central Part like the Derelict and Juggernaut.
It appears that A seems a larger portion for this Ship, its like a part that seems of significance, and if we look where the Arrows are this is where the Juggernaught seemed to use as Propulsion but it appeared to hover from underneath.
The angle this ship takes is a very odd one, certainly as far as if this is a Ship and if it has attack capabilities its not a ideal position for it to be in.
So indeed maybe as those Cinemacon Reports suggest this is something the Juggernaught connects to. some kind of docking device?

MemberXenomorphApr-18-2017 6:15 PMFrom the pictures the Juggs looks ALOT smaller than the Scorp ship. Which makes we wonder if it is supposed to connect with the Scorp ship where does it connect? It would be cool if Juggs was bigger and the two connected with juggs attaching to the inside of the ring.

MemberDeaconApr-18-2017 6:16 PMThat Article is a Recap in November 2015 of stuff i made a few threads on back in March 2015 and May 2015, way prior to Alien Covenant.
The Concept works described that Chris put down (not everyone that was described to me).
""Another Concept showed a Humanoid connected to what looked like a Wall/Machine or like a Giger inspired Mainframe similar to the Deacon Mural..."
They said this was like a HR Giger version of the Superman 3 Robot Girl Scene..... and alas March 2017 after the Embargo TWO on set reporters from the Summer 2016 claimed to have seen similar concept work.
"There were concept works mainly of a Giant Sun with a Giant Bluey/Green Planet sourounded by 5 Moons."
They had (i covered way earlier) said there was a few concepts of Paradise, it was a mainly Greeny looking World like the Klingon Homeworld, about 3X size of Earth, had 5 Moons but some concepts only see 3 Moons. Other concepts showed the World to be a Jungle like Mountainous World.
"Designs of a of a World Surface that was dark and had a landscape that looked a lot like LV-426 (The source claimed that they believed it was in fact LV-426, but that was their personal assumption)"
Indeed there was a concept of a World at Night that looked baron and rocky that they said looked like LV-426 and the movie was going to give a connection to LV-426 to a degree.
"Other works looked like Valley of the Kings Egypt only on a Dark World, it featured rows of Statues some Human looking some not so Human, pretty much like Egyption Statues at Valley of the Kings and they were not in pristine condition but damaged - some decapitated, to show that these things are Ancient and Neglected..."
They had described the world had a very Egyptian and Mesopotamia look to the Building and Culture Aesthetic.
"Then at the bottom of this like path that contained statues was a Black Obelisk that had life to it, well it was not derelict and had Green Glow in the centre similar to the Crystal in Prometheus."
They said there was one work of like Statues in a Row and a Path that lead to a Obelisk that was not Metal or Stone, it looked Grown and like Roots and beyond it was like a Dark Orchid of Trees. This Obelisk was the equivalent of the Forbidden Tree of Knowledge and Life and the Source of the Hierarchy power.
"scene from The Matrix as far as the Stasis Pods that people were kept in".
They described these as having like Baby Humanoids being Grown in them.

MemberXenomorphApr-18-2017 6:16 PMIt could connect in the bulbous "head" part of the Scorp ship (where the flat part is the left side of the "stinger")

MemberDeaconApr-18-2017 6:59 PMYou are going to have to bare with me and forgive my poor Photo-shop skills (PS not using Photo-shop lol)
I roughly guessed the size difference as below.
How did i do this?
Well dont take it as Scientific by any means, i drew a line from the edges of the ships until they hit where the ground level comes (used the Pillars as reference) then i drew a line from the center of the Scorpion ship again to the ground/city.
I then took various buildings and Pillars within the area that fell below this ship and pasted them over the same areas that lines would fall with the Juggernaught.
Then i adjusted the % of the items brought from below the Scorpion ship until i got the city blocks and pillars to be about the same size.
Then i applied this Percentage Reduction to the Scorpion Ship (60%) and this is the result... and while it is only a guess i think it surely could be the ships are different sizes.
I also notice that the Juggernaught when doing some other scaling compared to the Pillars that line up centered to the left and right of the Hanger will show the Juggernaught would just about fit inside the Hanger.
Which means maybe its unlikely the Scorpion Ship/Device would fit inside of it.

MemberDeaconApr-18-2017 7:15 PMI have taken same image and pasted a concept work from Prometheus scaled to about the same size and again have take my word for it and i used a old and not great program for this. But when i rotated and removed back drop as best as could on the Concept Juggernaught and rotated it at this scale to see where it would line up...
Bare in mind the angles not correct but it appears the parts with the Arrows could indeed link together.... This would fit with the one Report from the Cinemacon Footage...
