Alien guy's name was Matt. Yes, very nice latex suit. His wife was dressed as Ripley from the original movie. Very cool couple. Apparently you can bid on these latex replica costumes on eBay? He spent around $1000 on his and then had to "tweek" it a bit with more glue and highlighting when he got it.

ohh great !!! excellent modelling work ..... give it a wash of brown/beige ( with alot of water so it will go in the deep spots ) to make more visible the shadow/reliefs play ( as it is is magnificent but too flat )

I got it....... I want a Guyver suit (Guyver 0) made out of something like that with fibreglass for the actual armor pieces, but something like the latex for the 'creature' underneath. But that would be a massive custom job......

Thanx guys! Hey Frantz, or any artist out there: ... the costume is masking tape covered with liquid latex. While I'm a decent artist overall, I'm not versed in air brushing very much. I bought a small air brush kit to see if I could pull off doing some highlighting detail work and pretty much failed. I was down to the wire the night before Megacon, so I painted over the attempted highlights, hit the whole thing with a can of bronze Rust-o-leum for general shading, then applied a final clear coat. My question is: now with all these layers, what would I use for my beige/brown wash? What would stick to the final clear coat? If I can get it to work, I'll apply it to the rest of the costume sections as I finish them. Thanx for any advice.

You may have wanted to check and make sure the Mods had a record of those posts BEFORE you reported him. Although I agree the posts were over the top and crossed the line, I'm not sure erotic stories involving fantasies with children are treated the same as straight up child porn... I could be wrong though. But I give ya props for taking those steps.

Sometimes I feel like Sigourney would like to take the credit for anything that comes out of the Alien franchise. Prometheus is supposed to be in the same universe, as is Blade Runner (allegedly) and honestly, Ripley should have died in the crash on Fury 161, not Newt and Hicks. I said it before, if Ripley had gone and Hicks and Newt were the only survivors, I reckon it could have been a better story. Don't even get me started on Resurrection :-P It should have been called "Alien: Desecration" instead..........

i love this lady. is think she definitely has shown bright, in alien you can see fear in her eyes but she has what it takes to survive in aliens she knew what had to be done eyes forward always and the smarts but behind her strict nature her motherly instinct breaks the strict shell. and once again had what it takes to survive. in alien 3 ( i am one of those guys who liked it. dont ask why LOL) you can see her tired and weak yet she knew what had to be done and even though she knew her life was over she kept going untill the threat was extinguished calm cool headed and collected. and even when given the chance to live she jumped into the fire to dissolve her self as she now was the threat. resurrection ?????? it was ok a bit corny and over the top...in my opinion would have been better as an anime (like the animatrix). but ripley seems more sensual and animal like. i liked that becuase it kind of released a part no one has ever see. maybe her qualities to survive and preserve are what it takes to make a queen hmmmmmmm? sorry for the rant lol

I like the Director's Cut of Alien 3, they in fact are the versions I watch when doing Alien marathons which lately has been quite a bit tbh :-P Desecration doesn't go anywhere near my PS3 however. I should maybe just use it as a drink coaster :-D

@snugs: I too always thought the original SJ scene with all of it's (original) implications gave us (the viewers) a real sense of the vastness and the mystery of space. There sat this huge thing, like nothing anyone but Giger had ever imagined, sitting perpetually in it's chair... What was it's story? Why/how did it die? And the bad ass part is... It's not even addressed any further! Ridley just uses it to establish the real nemesis! If it's nothing more than a mutated human who gets in a suit... Well we've all seen that before... Guyver. We've seen smaller Greys use them in ID4 too. It needs to be something we haven't seen before... Something worthy of the vastness and mystery and the untold millions of stories... of space. Here's hoping.

Have any of you considered that Ridley might actually be giving us some spin in that quote..? There is a war of misinformation on the part of the studio. I wouldn't put it past Ridley to say 'yeah its a suit' and 'there wont be any xenos'... It is very possible that we will see the xeno that lays all the eggs... Its possible that any of the theories are correct or not correct. I'm just saying... Ridley could certainly be taking us for a ride. After watching Alien a billion times, I just don't see how the 'space jockey' could be a suit. It is clearly a creature with a ribcage and a xeno/something bursts out of it before they ever set down on that planet. Furthermore, we have already seen a photo of another space jockey dead, on the floor of the ampule room. It is visible in the very first poster. I have a difficult time believing this is a suit. Although I wouldn't be surprised if the jockey is a huge humanoid alien, who fuses with the chair, which could be considered a suit. Man we need something to talk about. Ushbuck leaves for a day and I'm reminded how long it will be until this film comes out! Back to Skyrim...

rs was not happy with alien and the way he wrestled for its creative control. prometheus is in a way his remake of alien, im sure cameron and fincher would all love to have a go at remakings with complete autonomy dont go to see promethues i think you will be dissapointed..

...anywho, TO RAVEN: I assume it was a "glitch". Im not for sure but in the second movie Aliens, ripleys dinner with bishop next to her, he mentions that ash's model was a bit twitchy. Bishop explained that he as the new model 57years later is a much upgraded version. So my guess is that Ash just twitches out of glitching reasons. OR maybe he needed a lil friction lol he seemed to be cold. but i didnt think androids whould be touchy to temp.

think it was deliberate mislead by ridley to get us to think he was a normal human having a quick limber up before settling into his console..

In the commentary for the 20th Anniversary DVD release, Ridley says something to the effect that Ian Holm suggested that little frenetic jog and Ridley viewed as a little touch that's meant to suggest something's not quite right about Ash...forgive me if I'm not qouting him exactly, but that's the gist of what he said.

Honestly, I think AvP was a GOOD IDEA ruined by a hack director. I have no respect for Paul W.S. Anderson at all. The one movie I can watch of his is Event Horizon. The second one was terrible, and that's being generous as far as I'm concerned :-P I think I fell asleep while I was watching it in the cinema. And I very rarely fall asleep during movies. I rarely sleep, for that matter. And I really, really, really hope that Prometheus has nothing at all to do with the Predator franchise now or in the future. If that happens, I'll give up watching movies altogether.

Lol i hear that cypher. Mixing the franchises is actually a head ache really. But is good idea, if done right. I to believe they have gotten sloppy. But if prometheus could pull all of it together and do it clean and not just bunched in with alot of open doors and windows with why's or whats' whens and wheres and hows, then i think it whould be good. Im actually ready to see the storys close and end. but i assume that probably wont ever happen lol. it will just keep spreading out.

Its a timeline for all the franchises. the years are listed when the moves where released but i made the timeline in the order as the movies themselves are set at. This is just theory tho, only if prometheus is infact a time traveling ship. it just makes sense to me that it whould be a time travel movie, that way it does not upset the movies already made that are set in modern day with aliens already on earth. That whould also explain how the "company" weyland-yutani knew about lv426 and sent the nistromo there to investigate.
