my guess is that its not an organism but vials containing something, vials stored in green goo, stored in the urns. I've checked it over and over on the "first look" and the images on AVP Galaxy.

each vial, will change a human or other living thing into whatever that goo in that particular vial is programmed to...that's my thinking anyways...just like the description in the plot link, the Power over life and death and/or something far more terrifying !!!

Looking really closely at the vials it looks like they contain actual specimens, I think the goo is just some sort of incubator.

Look objectively (saying that to any fan is suicide but...) you can see Davids hand grabbing the center, spreading out from that we can see 3 arms connected to 3 glass like vials (similar in shape to them long pointed light bulbs), from the configuration of these vials we can assume there is a fourth out of view, behind. The vial on the right has something dark, and long which maybe inside or a feature of the vial. the bone or tail you mentioned prom looks just like dripping goo... check the video to see what i mean.

I Just realized something from watching this little video and checking out all the screen caps that is a bit profound... I have been assuming all this time since the leaked plot outline that the central focal point of this film was/would be those Ampules. But after watching all the above again through a few times I started thinking deeper about some of the things we know now for facts. What if the central focal point of the film is not the Ampules/Urns themselves, but the very work that the "Engineers" are using them for...I assume now...Harvesting other worlds for consumption/survival purposes of their world and species. Humans come along and mess with these plans inadvertently through curiosity and the prime directive of their mission aboard the Prometheus. The Engineers decide to wipe out that race of Humans and load up the derelict with Ampules Programmed to develop into Xenomorphs Bound for EARTH not LV-426. "The Company" back on earth tracks the Derelicts coarse and realize it's headed for EARTH and intercept it causing it to crash on LV-426, saving the Human race for now. 30 years later they find an opportunity to investigate what was actually on board her further, and send in the Nostromo and her crew. Works for me !!! My Central Point is here, that I think this thing is going to turn out to be about a heck of a lot more than just the Ampules/Urns !!! And "Work", far better than any of us even imagined.

If you watch it over at apple you can pause it and track it along with your mouse.look at it in HD and as slow as you like.....interesting...you get a better look IMHO than the frame grabs..

@Sparky....interesting...wasnt that, well something along those lines leaked....i dunno during the summer?.. That the "Engineers" send in the Xenomorphs to clear a planet before they bioform or terraform it? Then the humans show up on the Engineers plant...the "gods/engineers are happy "their" creations have reached a pinnacle of their existence(Making it back to their creators being proof of this). But those pesky humans or some of them want the Engineers powers for themselves..grab some bioformer or whatever..make their escape and the spacejockey with the eggs goes after them in chase..the eggs being the weapons of choice?....Anyways we shall see...The trailer will rock and its so cool to see a filmmaker using big fu@k off sets!!!!!!

Its weird...whatever David is pulling out of the urn looks like the shedded skin of a xenomorph.....I know Ridley has stated that no theres no Xenos in this...so maybe it just looks like it??

Yup, I did not see that particular outline though, just the stuff about some of the crew on Prometheus stealing some of the eggs in another one and after seeing all of the above I realized that the Ampules are secondary here and the primary thing is the work the Engineers are doing..."Harvesting"...and the original title of Spaihts script was in fact "Alien Harvest". I am sure now that the original destination of The Derelict, was Earth and it was intercepted by The Company to stop it from reaching her and then had it's "distress" signal used to lure the Nostromo there to investigate further 30 years later.

But wasnt the Derelict on LV-426 a lot longer than the existence of Weyland?..Wasnt the Jockey supposed to be fossilised...granted because of the "Suit" story maybe they're revising it?

I'd go along with that theory. Think about the human face we see in the large hall. The sj's have 'invented' humans by some means, the ampules being central to there creation. But they need some other creature to complete the job. No idea what that is yet maybe a timid xeno specimen. Along come an advanced breed of humans who interfere with the process accidentally setting off some kind of monstrous mutation leading to the destruction of all. The derelict gets away driven by a human survivor now mutated into an sj who deliberately crashes the ship and sets off a warning signal before dying. The xeno that kills it is a queen laying eggs on the ship. Meanwhile the only survivor is a WY robot (not droid) done in CGI hence not on the cast list later to become ash.

I really can't wait, nut I have a question. I live in the netherlands, and I want to watch the trailer as soon as possible, but when will that be for me, I think it would be 00:00on thursday(dutch time) or american time(new york?). does anyone know it for sure? Xenomorphasmid

If you consider the sj on the derelict fossilized then time travel comes into the story

damn you guys are awesome... ...and I like the way you guys thought that all out even better, but it does in fact work and I would not be surprised in the least as I was saying if there are a lot more surprises in this thing than we even realize yet.

@ MCIAD - I don't see that being Prometheus. And you really are obsessed with a Queen laying all those eggs even though they were protected by the laser-mist, in a purpose built cargo bay. Also its highly unlikely that Ridley will connect to anything beyond Alien (didn't he say as much in a recent interview) @ Marty - the fossilisation could be because of the atmospheric conditions (possibly caused by a failed attempt at terraforming). Regards the vials - organic material contained within inorganic vials, incubated within organic green goo, stored within inorganic urns/ampules... Its whats inside the vials that has my interest

well the only thing i can say is that is terribly well done ...OF course we cant be sure that is real deal without watching it ( the plot can suck ) but as cinematography is beyond awesome ..the woman in distress is clearly noomi but that wont mean she is the one with the big belly . you saw that big hole in the floor ? :p

Hi! Forum n00b here! I don't know if anyone thought of this yet... But what if these Urns contain genetic information for a multitude of species that inhabit millions upon millions of worlds??? Then the Urn the Prometheus crew finds is like a chance... A chance that they can create a new world with a new life, or create the end of thier world or end of their species?

I just would like to state, I cam alot and by the time the trailer plays this Thursday, I will be out out juice...carry on and party on!

@ micro changes...could be dude??? I mean the opening (Waterfall) is at the begining of time..right? But as I was saying last week Noomi was on set in iceland along with others..so were they just there doing pick ups or filming. crucial scenes..So do the characters or some of them at least end up on earth..at the begining of man....hell are we dealing with an Adam and Eve scenerio??? Maybe the SJ craft was in persuit and crashed on LV-426 and Noomi and someone else makes it back to earth...are they the beginging of man? Then because of their actions in the past which is now the future...future man would stumble across the Derelict(In alien) and this can lead to our end???...Man I hate speculation lol..I mean what if they go searching for our beginings....and its actually some of the prometheus that are our begingings because of time travel......but because they pissed of the engineers who send out the SJ to get them....results in the nostromo finding the derelict and thus endangering our future because of this bio weapon??? Note if this isnt the story ..I want to keep it and make it one day!...ok!...you all back me up if need be!

These 30 second clips are truly exciting. I can't wait. A trailer for a trailer lol. The only sad thing is that we have to wait another 6 MONTHS for the movie release :( and I would imagine the Blu-ray itself won't be on sale until October around Halloween next year. Ugh I hate waiting. But I'm sure it will be ALLL worth it in the end. Can't wait for the trailer on Thursday! :)
