hey kind of unrelated but just realized this, in 77 star wars came out and blew the boundaries of special effects and 3 years later alien came out slightly less known and popular but just as good if not better and defining the term "hard science fiction" now avatar came out and did the same as star wars and 3 years later Prometheus is coming out and will most likely do the same as alien. history repeats its self :D

I am have stuck with Scott since I was young and he was my reason for being a film maker. This film is going to be awesome and will be his best movie since Alien.

I'm gonna take it even further now with a really hard core really honest statement... The PLOT, what we know of it now, is already infinitely better than that of "2001: A Space Odyssey" and the truth is none of us even know what it really is yet. I went to the Premier in NYC with my Dad in1969...I was 7 years old and did not get most of it...later I watched it over and over and over again and although it is the singular most beautiful to look at movie I have ever seen, it has some moments that are impossibly slow, not bad, but slow, and the ending was/still is perplexing not just in the questions it raises about our origins but in it's visual Blasting of it's audience with and image that is so very annoying the longer it goes on, that of the ship time traveling through space to the very origins of mankind...and to this day I wonder if that scene, that "shoot" was far too long for it's own good. I still consider that film and the extended director's cut edition of "Gladiator" to be the 2 best films I have ever seen, but this one, already looks more exciting, better crafted, and more action packed with little opportunity for lull than both of those. The Plot could turn out to be about Chipmunks singing Lady Gaga songs in space at this point, and it will still, IMO, end up being The Best Dam Sci-Fi film ever made !!!

one thing ...watching the trailer very slow i dont see any of the main characters ( except noomi over and over ) ...i dont see neither Logan marshall green not Pearce not harris not dickie not spall and elba only in one scene ... i wonder if many parts of the trailer are from another expedition or the start of the movie , the two guys that shoot for example ..to me are the 2 actors that do the mercenaries ...i can be wrong of course

I can clearly see Fassbender right after the finger shot with his mask melting!!! Perhaps it's me and I am hallucinating or just think I am seeing him, but it sure looks like him.

PredatorDreads, 100% absolutely no doubt in my mind it is him, I also think that upside down shot of a woman terrified is NOT "Naomi R" but rather "Theron"...could be wrong, but it is 100% Theron's voice doing the scream in that scene.

At 10 seconds..the dude firing the gun looks like he has a mohawk under his helmet....in the pic granted looks like its part of the makeup..maybe because of acid burning. But it does look like a mohawk under the helmet..no?

I'm not sure if its the same guy. The deformed guy has a beard it looks like.

@ Sparky....i dont think its Fassbender dude...I actually think its Spall...given Fassbenders billing i dont think he gets melted in this....also it looks like Spall to me.... ?

@22 seconds on HD over at apple it looks as if something is in the guys helmet..or rather under it...then on to his face....

it could be I am not saying it has to be just that it looks like him, but I defer to Frantz on that kind a thing cause he knows the Cast very very well. I am just saying it sure looks like him. Guys.. i think the "melting" bit is someone turning into a Spacejockey????...If you freeze it....in at 22 seconds looks like the skull of the SJ...you see it just before and after...his face ends up looking like the concept art of a SJ/Engineer....a bit like Engineer prototype from here???

btw i think marty is quite right ..he looks like spall
