Very funny find Dark Nebula. It's going to be tough for Franco to shake the type-cast...he was too good at "acting" as if he was burnt out.
Very funny Ati, these are great. Dr. Shaw had to survive on mustard, crackers, and pain pills from her utility case until David's synthetic patience ran out.

I believe that the pilot's suit is linked up with the Engineer's body similar to the feeds in the Engineer hypersleep chamber chli. The Engineers also wore the suits for protection inside the pyramid on LV-223 (see hologram below).

Our modern pilot's suits provide vital resources such as air, water, etc...while the Engineer's pilot's suit most likely provides a more "intimate" link with the Engineer's anatomy.

The Engineers have incorporated magnetism into their FTL travel and I can only project that the additional protection of a suit is needed in this propulsion system.

The Engineer's face was burnt from a penetration of heat from this blast into the chamber he was located in. The brilliant flash above overwhelmed every protection in between the Engineer and the Prometheus explosion.

As far as the atmosphere, the Engineers seem to be stronger than humans and I can only further assume that they would be able to walk a short distance on the surface of LV-223 without issue. The trilobite was more challenging than the air quality for the Engineer though.
Thank you Dark Nebula. Yes, the Engineer pilot helmet and the examples you show are too close for coincidence. Great examples above and thank you for those too.

Giger had to be considering the human example when crafting the Space Jockey suit.
Other planets will feature the equivalent of the White House, YouTube, history books, left-wing and right-wing parties, nightclubs, mansions, post offices, charity shops etc
Really nice images. The first time I saw the SJ/Engineer suit it reminded me a lot of the jet fighter pilot helmets.

CPU is in the back of the neck though lol
No worries and I'll tell him Joylitt said hi too XD
Old Mick Taylor could take David in a knife fight

That would be a sleight case of fingered to death..
Or the opposite of it. Bring something with holes so alluring that while he is busy fingering them, you get the chance to disconnect him.
And try not have things with holes on you as he will try to finger them!
red0guy And have a mint in case he tries to french kiss you.
He should not forget to wear an environmental protection suit... for you know, black spores. And please do no not engage him in a fist fight because he will mos def make a switcharoo on you.
Now that you are seeing him I hope you can talk him into using his tracking skills and bowie knife in hunting down so called android David. All travel expenses paid, there's a big $$$$$$$$$$$ reward for his head plus a full pardon for previous depraved criminal activities. But he has make it back to Earth with that fucker's head before the next Alien movie starts shooting!
Ati lol well that seems like false advertising XD
But thank you kindly, I did not know that, and am not familiar with the film :)
great to know
joylitt it is indeed. John Jarrett is touring NSW at the moment as an ambassador for asbestos awareness and doing public and greets. Im going tomorrow to meet him XD
"Yes I would like to have a face hugged Luke Scott figure!"
red0guy You cracked me up!!!@!!!
I've got them all - well 2 sets, 1 to keep and 1 set to open up and "play" with *cut to Firefly scene of Wash playing with dinosaurs on the bridge for reference lolololol*
Disappointing indeed. I love NECA because they've always strived to make the very best. But then again, as there's so many things up in the air right now about this franchise I can understand why they'd make the decision to stop where they're at. Lady Anne ^^ö^^
I think the possibilities of what we can find can are limitless. And here is one of my main issues with the character of David lies. I would say an A.I. would be this entity with an unlimited lust for knowledge. If it was given the possibility to travel across the universe, it would go on a quest to discover, and maybe find others like him. But no, we know so far what David is up to, a Doctor Moreau working in a cave conducting experiments with his bare hands. How sophisticated, surely worthy of a higher intelligence. Unfortunately, the turn we've seen in "Covenant" was not the product of deep thinking for planning a story arc. It is more a lazy way of creating a villain that would save money for the next movie.
Nice pictures, Ingeniero. But one wonders why the engineer pilot would need a helmet in the spaceship? Also, the engineer seemed to cope quite well with the atmosphere on LV-223, without a helmet, when he chased Shaw? Or did he take it off in the airlock? He was also bruised/burned on the side of his head so the helmet didn't fully protect him?
"David seems convinced that he can feel emotions, or is he just mimicking emotions in an attempt to feel them? Maybe it is all just in David's head?"
David was designed to "show" emotions I Moon Girl. He may be convinced that he can feel emotions but I believe that is part of his madness.
As far as the memories...David is woken up for the first time by Peter Weyland and is already quite talented on the piano, knowledgeable in art and literature, and can speak, walk, etc...these implants are knowledge and capability. I'm not sure that constitutes "memories" though in regards to the androids like what we saw with replicants.
Great point again in regards to the human scientist in Alien: Covenant Origins and his limitations in building David and Walter. That was a nice surprise to find out in the book that there isn't an assembly line of androids and that there were very few in 2104.
I saw that regarding Hawking and he can be a downer in describing our prospects of finding life or life finding us dk.
One thing that stuck out to me in Contact was the poison pill given to astronauts. This was in case they found something we could not imagine or were marooned in a place inconceivable. Pretty grim.
Personally, I don't know. Europa could give us some answers soon.
IRaptus I bet that in your profile pic is the bad guy from "Wolf Creek"
Stephen Hawking essentially suggested we may not see advanced technolgy and life as many expect since those beings may self destruct with said tech before getting out too far. Not the best summary but it seemed a fairly dim view.

He was close and I'm pretty sure you're correct about the view of the pilot dk. David was able to operate the hologram and it looks like he was right about the target (Earth above) from what he learned earlier.

The floating icons above are great.
Do you think David observed how the chair was operated like he did to learn that weird button/flute sequence? Looks like he was positioned with a good view.
I will admit to an (almost) equal obsession towards the Predator and JP franchises too :-)
dk haha that I was!! But I like giving some Rep to lesser known but really great films....like CUBE and now Wolf Creek
Interesting video! Definitely food for thought for the whole franchise.
Tiwaz i like your line about "less pseudo intelligent mumbo jumbo". It does seem that RS has replaced the art of true mystery for psuedo intelligent ambiguity and overt symbolism.
I may just be more optimistic regarding an "AI" story joylitt.
In Alien according to Ridley Scott, AI extends into Engineer lore now with the mutagen described as a radical AI in Advent.
Not only could we have more shown with how humans developed AI and then deployed it but also what the Engineers did with AI and if they chose to suppress it. And why? Ridley Scott said the Engineers received the black goo mutagen from someone else. Who developed the mutagen AI?
The entire above AI paragraph may be fluff and uninteresting to many that focus on the alien but I like the backstory development that shows the Engineers and the reach of AI. And I can take a little synthetic conspiracy too.
Technically that can't be gay kiss or anything else since neither David nor Walter is human.
I feel the same way but lately have been dabbling with the Zilla.
IRaptus I thought you were Dillon a long time ago?

I have the neomorph and am not as impressed with it as the Runner and AVP neos that I have.
(The acid blood spattered window begins to crack and rattle as the acid melts the glass, the only thing between them and the void of space.)
Perez starts shoving soldiers "Clear the sector!"
FATHER: Warning. Potential hullbreach. Clear sector.

IRaptus - I forgot to add: there are no vampires in the movie Planet of the Vampires. :D
IRaptus - We are not far away from vampires. Probably you know the movie Planet of the Vampires (1965). That movie was one of their visual and story sources when they created Alien - space jockey skeleton, shape of the ship, etc.:
