That is how I feel about things like the Crossing, Phobos, and the Last Supper. Those things had more character development than the whole fucking AC. Something is seriously wrong when you have more character development in the extras than the movie. Honestly I would rather watch these things than the movies because they have some character development something that both prequels lack. For this reason Alien Covenant feels more disappointing. Yes I remember that Prometheus had the same problems, like in another scene it explains better the space cobra petting, and other things. Sorry but those that decided to leave things like that out are a problem.
dk, blame Pietro Scalia for the cuts ...
ignorantGuy Good point. I would correct myself in stating that the Neomorph kills were not directly guided by David- perhaps a happy accident since he despised people at any rate. At best he killed by proxy since they spawned from the black goo bombs.
However, the Neomorph seemed to recognize David as some sort of organism to not attack as did the xenomorph.
dk Let's play the semantics game. With exception of Mr expensive cameo, all died because of David as they were lured there by his signal. But let's do some counting. 1 dies burned, 4 are killed by the black monster, 1 is killed by David, 1 blows her self up. So there 6 people directly killed by the white monster, which is the minority, therefore not even a lot.
The thirteen deaths require narrative which yields one answer, David is mad and has fashioned the Xenomorph.
A lot of those deaths in AC were executed from the Neomorph independent of David. AC deaths deserve individual narratives but seemed pretty random in the movie if I understand your point.
Michelle Johnston That is what you choose to believe... But what the hell means second generation in that case? Because they will be born in the colony will they be humanity 2.0 ? Or are they clones?
Love it. I am actually thinking I should have said "they all die well mostly." Muther is still with us but they lost 47 colonists and 16 second generation embryos.
The most interesting slip is freudian but then she didn't. She went some place beautiful.
Michelle Johnston In a friendly dispute over semantics, that is not 100% true as you forgot that Guy from Memento (pun intended). It is also true that he is not credited and is a casualty of an other movie...
@dk My Pleasure.
@ignorantGuy Quite Right thanks it should read cast not crew 7 couples David and Walter = 16 with three going somewhere and Walter(ish) missing in action.
Good luck Michelle, but the crew of the Covenant consisted of 7 pairs and 1 roybot, and only 2 survive for sure (Major Kong and the lady with bad wig), and the roybot is missing in action (hopefully is also dead).
Sounds very interesting. Thanks for the share!
Ogres are like onions. Onions have layers. Ogres have layers.

Indeed dk, he's the main reason why a lot of gods are mythologies now.
The Alien 3 comic book #1 is available for pre-order through Dark Horse.
I am sure a interesting one would be......
Xenomorph Queen vs Adult Deacon ;)
Gavin Interesting premise- Ripley Sr vs Ripley Jr. Jr certainly did way more head knocking and killing in one game than Sr did in the Alien trilogy. Jr had the smarts too. Amanda for the win.
Dark Nebula Indeed- Kratos made sure many gods died!
Definitely watch it at home, I hate the theaters.
Gavin even better R. Scott vs all other people who contributed to the lore after Alien ...
whats next...
Lambert (Jerry) vs Lambert (Joan), Ripley (Ellen) vs (Amanda) Ripley, Lambert (Jerry) vs Hudson, Weyland (Charles) vs Weyland (Peter), Weyland (Charles) vs Bishop
If you allow UPLOADING of one synth to another...it opens a can of worms!
Did David upload into ash? Ash is a inferior model and David has to play nice....Humans can kill him.
David is also a virus inside MUTHUR.
What about Bishop? Is David inside him/it?... did David/Bishop bring the Eggs back to the Sulaco.....Set fire to the vessel....Then Uploaded itself to the Sulaco mainframe ?
Maybe David is still aboard the Sulaco...waiting for a synth to show up.
BigDave You don't mess with an engineer (chemical in Lungren's case)... He will f#$# you up!
Predator Dillon might have a repeat of history LOL!

A3 Dillon is down and dirty with no gloves. This chunked up version of Billy Idol would go home crying to mama after dealing with "no one ever gave me nothin'" Dillon!
Have to see how A3 Dillon fairs against this GUY ;) Then i can make a Judgement!

I am not sure that has happened, i guess it cant be ruled out.
But i do think at some-point David will UPLOAD himself to a Walter Model.
Leto - I am very sure that David uploaded himself into Walter, who has genetic imprint (see Meet Walter) and the end game is (or was during the making of AC) David being the Space Jockey and face-hugged generating the final Xeno-morph look.
If it's David - why he have same scars on face what get Walter? Absolutely same! Nobody from Covenant didn't see Walter's scars! David is no need to make scars for himself specially. In order to make the team trust him? Maybe. BUT - scars absolutely same! They can be horizontal or on the other cheek. But not - scars same what have Walter!
It does not make sense, unless it's Walter!
I don't think Dilon would be a push-over by any means but Predator showed he was unconditioned, reckless and a tad weak.
Dillon on the other hand was a hard man who lived a hard life and would be a savage and uncompromising survivor
I would have to cede to Dillon for wrastling a Xeno in molten lead as opposed to Dillon having an arm off and said arm couldn't even spray and pray. It seems a desk job can do that to a person.
A3 wins Dillon by submission.... axe handle chokehold
On the one hand, Dillon was pretty bad ass and went on about how no one gave him nothin'! But Dilon also had some formidable military experience that was not above board. I have to admit that birth control glasses on a big bald guy adds an element of bad assery.
Of course the one from Cubed would win, as years of working at the Agency started affecting the other's better judgement.
For me it depends on the movie. If I know I want to see it I’ll go to a theater, but if it’s something that looks okay or if I don’t know if I’d like it I’ll just rent it.
I thought that Walter's neck healed from the stab wound before our eyes. Walter was more advanced but was KO'd long enough for David to assume Walter's identity.
My take was that David decapitated his own limb to mimic Walter. What was strange was that he was sewing up a wound that should have self healed- and Daniels didn't notice that detail.
No need to feel sorry. I like it this way. Being out in public is like this:

David stabbed Walter in the neck and we see something sinking into it, left to assume that he is just healing. Fancy that. Could that have been the embryos?
But it is hard to conceive that David would be in Walter's body. The reason being is the scratches on the face that Daniels helps him repair. Think about it... If Walter can heal from a stab wound to the neck, why wouldn't he be able to heal some more superficial wounds on his face? The answer is because it isn't Walter... Also, this should have tipped off the whole damn crew that it wasn't Walter who boarded the ship. Instead, they just believe what their eyes see (a missing hand) and because human beings have emotions, which they tend to let guide them, they readily dismiss what should be apparent.
Then my only response is I feel sorry for your loss of being unable to watch films the way they were meant to be seen. Parking? We have to find that anywhere we go. Lines and finding a seat? Reserve them online. Rude people? There are fewer than you think. Remember you're not the only one who is there to watch and pay attention to the movie. These complaints all sound too trivial to take seriously. It's more like a bad sitcom scenario.
