No, I don't. More often than not these days, the big 2 minute trailers give too much away. It's almost like watching a complete movie in 2 minutes. "Oh great - so they'e put the best bits in the trailer AGAIN... damn it." The Prometheus Tailer 1 is perfect. It's a homage to the 1979 film, it's mysterious, it makes you ask questions, it looks gorgeous, and it leaves me wanting more... the actual film. Rather than showing "the best bits" in a second trailer, by showing the actual first 6 or so minutes would really wind people up to a frenzy. We would get to hear the actual music, see actual titles and see it for what it is. Please Ridley, do it.

Gotta say I like that idea. Make you salivate for the rest. I could live with that, and would pay money to watch *shudder* Twilight if I had to. Actually I wouldn't have to watch it, I'd walk out after the prologue :-D

I believe AVATAR producers released some kind of pre-release short depicting a future of interplanetary travel & colonization that the story takes place in. So the movie itself can go straight into the good plot as expositions can really kill the mood of the movie. I hope Fox or/and Ridley would choose to release the "Beginning of time" segment as just that.

Yep, that's what I want. I would pay money to watch that, then walk out. (Hell, I've already forked out £100 for a pair of 3D Glasses for this film). That's what I think would immediately help to set it apart from the rest of the Summer's big films. OK, so Ridley might be "copying" Chris Nolan's neat idea, but the audience, the studio and Chris himself would still be happy to see 6 minutes of Prometheus. Epic.

@Paul Littlefield I agree 110% with you, I was kind of kidding, but I'm getting anxious, I prefer to be teased, a teaser is welcome, the trailer is number one mayor at the level of secrecy, provokes curiosity and for the fans and new fans, a lot of attention for wanting to see more ...

I think the head is there for the eggs/facehuggers/ampules (whatever) to imprint on, so that's what they'll seek when openned. Looks like a monumental tribute or statue at first but has an ironic and sinister purpose.

It is there. The nose= the neck and you can see the teeth at the hightlight under the right eye. Theb the head shape is extended to the back of the left eye. Perhaps the hidden alien is a warning or a tribute of some kind?

Would have been helpful if when posting all those head pictures you added a little info describing what they were and the theory behind why they were made.

@Biomechanic Obviously, the movie is going to play into a lot of religious themes, godhead worship, creationist theory, ancient possibly long self-destructed culture etc. STAR TREK V, anyone? Our very own cultures erected these massive statues for a reason, no?

I was just stating I think it would be helpful to the community if in the future pictures were explained.

@Biomechanic Images posted are colossal heads designed and carved by the Olmecs, an ancient culture that lived in what is now Mexico (covering the southeastern state of Veracruz and western Tabasco). They were built with basalt brought from great distances. Weigh several tons and are up to three and four meters high. There are various hypotheses of what the heads mean: 1-A Tribute to the Gods. 2-Tribute to the Warriors (for helmets) 3-Some inter-oceanic contact, by their African features 4-Tribute to ancient astronauts, although such speculation Obviously is totally rejected by the scientific community. And the others that were initially posted by @Engr101 are Moai of the Island of Pascua (Rapa Nui), a Polynesian island located off the coast of Chile. The meaning of the moai is still uncertain, and there are several theories about these statues. The most common of these is that the statues were carved by the Polynesian inhabitants of the islands, between the twelfth and seventeenth centuries, as representing deceased ancestors, so that would project their mana (supernatural power) over their descendants. Although it also has thought about the ancient astronaut hypothesis. They were placed on the ahu (ceremonial platforms) with their faces toward the interior of the island and after encajarles eyes of red coral or volcanic rock became the aringa ora (living face) of an ancestor. It is believed that whole mountains were removed for their creation. The volcanic rock could be cut with relative ease with basalt and obsidian tools, giving them their basic shape in the quarry itself. Were subsequently extracted and partially buried in the vicinity to be carved details. Even more controversial is the way they were transported to the island to its final location. No one knows exactly how they were taken, but it is almost certain that this process required the use of sleds or wooden rollers. Some of these roads was originally excavated in the bedrock of the island, consisting mainly of volcanic rock of a type known as pahoehoe. Interestingly, the roads are not flat but its section shows a characteristic form "V" or "U". Its average width is 3.5 meters and requires a high level of engineering knowledge. In some stretches, the roads are flanked by lines of rocks. But perhaps most surprising is that these rocks are not just placed there, but embedded in holes carved into the bedrock that forms the floor of the island. An important detail is that these holes are given in the sections where the road goes uphill. Dr. Love speculated that these holes were placed there to accommodate some kind of mechanism designed to help move the giant stone heads and save slopes that otherwise would require a significant effort. These holes, and the curious way in "V" of the road indicate that there are still considerable uncertainties about the system employed by the natives of Easter Island to erect its mysterious Moai. .....well maybe David does not need to sleep....but they do need someone to get the human crew back in shape....maybe David just kinda switches off...who knows?...or he just keeps a guarding eye on the ship while everyone is in dreamland....like house-sitting....or ship-sitting in this particular case?

David could get Imora back into shape after she wakes up before the rest of the crew. Once Imora has regained her muscle tone, then she would be ready to help the rest of the crew rehabilitate themselves. In the meantime, David could start analyzing the data from the alien world which they are approaching.
