....come to think of it....after a long hyper sleep i am sure u feel rather crap....imagine the worst hangover imaginable.....so if dickie is human....then how is she gonna tend to the others...if she herself feels like shit....so that lends me to believe that perhaps she is the second android...makes sense?

@ GreatBoosUp
Only saw your response now....it also makes sense I guess?
ReplyGreatBoosUpPrometheus ForumDavid's Roles Aboard the PrometheusFeb 9, 2012
Still, David could revive Imora a month before the rest of the crew and therefore get her into shape in anticipation of helping the other crew members. I don't know why Imora would need to be an Android at all.
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus ForumDavid's Roles Aboard the PrometheusFeb 9, 2012
...i suppose if their is gonna be a second android like ridley stated.....then it will play a vital role in the whole plot....she said that she only lives like 28 minutes (hardly a major role)...but on the other hand...an android will make the perfect personal trainer...lol
ReplyGreatBoosUpPrometheus ForumDavid's Roles Aboard the PrometheusFeb 9, 2012
I thought Ridley suggested that there might be two androids but didn't vow that there would be. I think it's possible Vickers could be the second android - a cold, mechanical corporate robot.
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus ForumDavid's Roles Aboard the PrometheusFeb 9, 2012
....yeah she is another suspect....Theron.....her character seems to be quite the enigma....so i won't be to surprised....tho Vickers being an android almost seems to obvious...i laugh it's Shaw...but maybe their is'nt even a second android like u mentioned...maybe the blue guy is the second android......maybe...perhaps...who knows...all i know for certain is that i am quite human and i do need my sleep...gonna have some now..;)

FYI,
News just said Arnie was in for a torn rotator cuff, and Sly scheduled his surgery so he could surprise Arnie when he was in recovery.

@skyguy1054: I agree, I've never seen anything suggesting a collision with another ship in that shot either. We won't know for sure why there was an explosion around the sj ship and why it fell from the sky until June.
Replyred hoodPrometheus ForumWHAT collision?Feb 9, 2012
If this is during the last part of film i say it has to do with the chest burst of SJ in chair. They keep saying that during last part we get a good dna of alien connection.
ReplyGolicPrometheus ForumWHAT collision?Feb 9, 2012
If you look at the trailer towards then end when the derelict is rolling on over you can see pieces of the prometheus burning strewn along the ground. They also match up nicely with some of the early production stills released on AICN this past July.

I don't believe there was a collision? Maybe an explosion or rather but I don't suspect a collision.

ReplyFrantzAlien Fan Art ForumRoad leading to the ship Feb 9, 2012
the topic of course was already discussed ... the road is leading to the temple and it seems artificially made by the crew ( some sort of bulldozers maybe )
ReplybunnypmfAlien Fan Art ForumRoad leading to the ship Feb 9, 2012
The ship that is seen in space is the same one that is seen on the ground, it's engines can rotate through ninety degrees and the spar that connects them tilts to allow vertical or horizontal flight. The road that leads from the ship to the rock formation is exactly the same width as the garage pod that is lowered from the ship. It seems very likely that the road was created by the crew of the ship, how it was made and why it is so far from the rock formation remains a mystery.

well i think that when you descend onto an alien planet you cant be so picky to be closer to a target you dont even know what its .... a km away seems reasonable to me
ReplySpartacusAlien Fan Art ForumRoad leading to the ship Feb 9, 2012
we're on the metric system here in Montreal but Frantz's estimate is one I would "concurr" {big word for a guy like me} with. I'd say the equation would be,
Saftey= 1KM - target Alien species / 1 triangle.
or soemthing like that hahahahaha.

ReplyjujutsukaAlien Fan Art ForumRoad leading to the ship Feb 9, 2012
Hah, Frantz, yeah.
I suppose the ship's sensors might have picked up something that led the crew to land at a distance. Or, when landing in an alien environment, don't land your only means of escape too close to potential danger.
ReplydbAlien Fan Art ForumRoad leading to the ship Feb 9, 2012
Hey guys! Let's build a road 5 times wider than we need and then follow each other in-line so we suffocate the guys in back!
Roger that.
ReplyjujutsukaAlien Fan Art ForumRoad leading to the ship Feb 9, 2012
That certainly does look odd in that still. There's room for them to drive side-by-side. I guess when you're potentially booking it from something sinister, you don't think too much about those things.

ReplyGuestAlien Movies ForumAlien Life CyclesFeb 9, 2012
As a weapon concept, the Queen Hive cycle like ants and Bees makes a lot of sense. They can reproduce quickly by laying thousands of eggs which create a parasitic form that forms a pupa stage in the host, kills the host, and then grows to adult. The adult form then has different form, workers, warriors, drones, queens again like certain insects. Insects are one of the oldest high life forms on earth. They reproduce and adapt so fast they can embody the definition of infestation. 6' long insects in any form would be an apex predator. The are the fastest, strongest, toughest, and most deadly creatures on earth for their size, without getting into bacterial and viral life forms. Cameron's concept was a good one. But it's not that Alien. It's too based in Earths concept of life. Still, it's possible, and a sound concept especially if one assumes the SJ make Earth.
Morphing a host into an egg, and another host into a face hunger recipient just seems really inefficient for a being engineered specifically as a weapon. Is an extra, wasted stage. That doesn't mean it couldn't evolve that way by accident. Lots of mutations in creatures are weird and not efficient, but as long as they don't hinder reproduction too much to become extinct, then the trait can stay. This is why in my opinion, the Xeno humanoid in Rifley's concept isn't the actual "weapon". It's the aftermath of something we haven't seen. The Xeno is the random, or not so random result, of something that could keep evolving, adapting and consuming everything.
But there lies another interesting direction. Why would space jockey's engineer a giant insect, bio-mec, cyborg, Xeno creature when a virus, or bacteria would be much more effective at destroying life on a planet? It's particularly disturbing when one ponders the possibility of a micro organism, or nano bot that can mutate anything it touches at genetc, micro, elemental, or even atomic level wether "alive" or not. That is end of days type of stuff.
What if there is no alien "life cycle" because it never repeats but constantly mutates. So something we haven't seen creates the eggs. The eggs make face hungers, the huggers make chest bursters, the burster after absorbing the host grows bigger........ (this we have seen)....Then the alien eats brains and absorbs the intelligence of the victim on some level (alternate ending) or impregnates another host by some other means (hinted at) sexual, rape, secretions, which becomes yet another form of Xeno. Why couldn't the host that is cocooned simply transform into the "adult form"? As a weapon if this thing could breed, and infest, by several methods all at the same time (sexual, implantation, secretion of something, etc) by whatever the situation demands....now that is a nasty weapon particularly if it's constantly evolving and absorbing something from the host. So by this method you'd have a dog/bat/human/horse/snake etc etc all mixed together in a very short period of time. That is pretty disturbing.

Hi Sparty
Thanks :-) Did you find anything?
ReplyCypherAlien Movies ForumSJ Derelict Internal LayoutFeb 9, 2012
I think the cave comes after the crash, and is indeed in the crust of the planetoid, dunno how long a cave that size would take....well, anything, to dig out. It may have already been there, because you can clearly see that the ship has only the 3 vagina ports that the Nostromo crew enter it through at the end of the Prometheus trailer where Noomi is looking up at it, and there's an acid hole that they lower Kane through to get to the cave, so if the Derelict crashes on top of a cave easy enough for an acid spewing beastie to scuttle off through the floor into the cave below. Did that make sense? I'm running on caffeine here, haven't been able to sleep so I got up and made coffee....
I have a feeling that the material the ship is made of is organic, and can be molded to whatever use the Engineers' wish it to. So it would make sense if that were the case for the material to continue to grow through the newly acid eaten floor, although it looks more like it is part of the ship as a whole.
I don't think I'm making much sense anymore. Time for more coffee......
ReplyBellaisanAlienAlien Movies ForumSJ Derelict Internal LayoutFeb 9, 2012
@Cypher, that makes great sense that the egg chamber grew into the surface of the planet after the crash. I would imagine that a race able to manipulate dna to any form would be able to grow their own tunnels, buildings, etc. Perhaps the acid like you say eats away a hole and then a more 'creative system of goo' builds within the space that has been created..........
Possibly humans stumbling on this process part way through produces monstorous results....................
Replyskyguy1054Alien Movies ForumSJ Derelict Internal LayoutFeb 9, 2012
Someone asked how the derelict ship would have docked with another. If there are three female opennings on this one, might there be three complementary appendages on some other ship or structure that might interface with them? I'm being intentionally polite here.
Replyskyguy1054Alien Movies ForumSJ Derelict Internal LayoutFeb 9, 2012
There's also what looks like a fairly ornate skylight on the exterior of the derelict. It's on the dorsal (top) surface above the three vag-like openings. There are paintings of the interior of the SJ room what looks like rays of light streaming in. I wonder if this is the cockpit or viewport?
ReplyShadowcasterAlien Movies ForumEgg ChamberFeb 9, 2012
I would have to say that is a highly logical explination. I have even noticed that only one section of the storage area was lit up, but never thought to think why? Good thinking!!
ReplyRickAlien Movies ForumEgg ChamberFeb 9, 2012
Hey BBJ,
We have beat this horse to oblivion. But hell I'm game for another chat on it. Dimensionally, the egg cavern doesn't fit inside the derelict, and it is also much warmer than the ship by saying its like the tropics.
