It was probably dubbed in just for the trailer. She may just be grimacing in pain.

What she really said was, "can you pass the bacon please?" but they cut the first part out for dramatic effect. They're just trying to mislead you, I'm sure the actual scene in the movie will play out completely different than you expect.

i still think there is a chance that the voice we are hearng in the scream scene with Naoomi Rapace is actually Charlene Theron's voice. Sure sounds like it to me.

That's what the 'horror' of this film will be - a badly dubbed sci-fi film similar to those awful 70s kung fu movies. Cue shot of a tight-lipped burly man smiling laviciously dubbed with a feminine, squeaky and plaintive "PLEASE!!!!" A Space Jockey in a roundhouse kick giggling hysterically, lol.

Yes of course Snorky, she said "she loved me" when I showed her the $400,000 gift card for Debeers and I am most familiar with that voice now...it's the same one screaming "Plllleeeeaase" while Rapace is in pain.

Funny that I heard her scream PLEASE the other night, but was a little too preoccupied with what she was doing to compare it with the trailer!

Thank you for clearing that up, now I understand. I wasn´t aware that the dubbing in this exact part of the trailer had been discussed before. Apparantly my punishment was watching my topic getting "vulgarized" :) Do you really think, that Ridley would take his smokescreening so far that he would play the voice of one actress on top of another?

@visualizer Its not really a smokescreen. Trailers commonly have voice overs. This one isn't that jarring as the scream is replacing silence or a "sigh" during a visual of a woman in obvious pain. Its was probably done just for dramatic effect by the trailer editors.

i think that everything Ridley has done so far has been deliberately done and said with the sole purpose of protecting as much of the plot as is possible and to mislead us all as much as he can...this is his baby...and imo he'll be damned if anyone is gonna be anythng less than utterly amazed when it finaly hits!!! He's waited 33 years to do thisd and has thought about it constantly. I can almost guarentee everyone right now, that at the 2013 oscars, Ridley takes the 2nd biggest prize of all and the very thing that has eluded him his entire career. I said it once before and I will say it again, this is NOT just some movie. What this is, is a Master Director and his Master Conceptual artist going back to the very subject matter they Mastered 33 years ago. this is an EVENT...not a movie! this is an Artistic parade. this is The Science Fiction Film finally being taken seriously once again!

I am pretty sure that Ridley is doing his best to smokescreen details in the promotion of Prometheus to avoid the plot being figured out to soon - since "the surprise is in the story". I am aware of the dramatic effect of breaking the silence with the "please" in the trailer, but the timing of the clip and the sound, kind of suggest that they belong together - even if not in sync. I am fully aware that voiceovers are commonly used in trailers, but that doesn´t really prove that Charlize is the person screaming "please!", which is what I disagreed with in the first place.

The wait for the trailer is killing me...imagine the amount of theories or speculation that will this second trailer that lasted beautiful two minutes...If only with the first reached has talk about everything...

@pjr Yea, all this speculation & analysis are fun to do. But in the end, we may know next to nothing about the film story at all. But we all wish that there will be tons of scifi genre elements that we love.

@Engr101, in that case he's doing us a favor - when sitting there in the theater watching all the wonders that hadn't occurred to us, we'll enjoy the experience much more than if we had it mostly figured out ahead of time!

the first teaser trailer shows a few scenes of the overall framework of the movie, which incidentally takes three hours. so is that it is impossible to know exactly what is happening in it, but that's the idea... already that when a trailer you reveals the movie then we would be faced a epic fail... PS: Mostly the scenes seem to go in order to delicious 8 final minutes...

@Shambala My fear is that Fox would wind up releasing too much information in the new trailer (which I predict would be released with PHANTOM MENACE 3D re-release) and destroy the suspense & anticipation for the movie.

@Engr101... I hope that does not happen anything... but a movie of 2 hours are enough to choose. So it should not show too much key scenes. PS: by the way, see my pictures in my topic chutulu "in the Mountains of Madness" ... lol

I don't even think they should show scenes from the latter half of the movie in the new trailer. Why does a trailer have to "summarize" the film? Just think how crazy it'd be (at least for viewers like us who are passionate about the film) if everything we see in the trailers happens in the first half or two-thirds of the movie, and we have no idea going into the theater about what to expect from the remainder of the film (the last 8 minutes notwithstanding, as nobody will have a clue, I'm sure). For all we know, the derelict could crash with an hour left in the film. I know it's wishful thinking on my part, because they have to balance the trailer content to appeal to the greatest number of people, not merely the film's most rabid fans.
