MemberOvomorph01/27/2012What percent of this movie's full story is alluded to in the trailer? I'm suspecting it's a small percentage, myself. It could have been designed by Ridley to fascinate us fans of Alen, by almost all of it just showing scenes leading up to and including those final 8 minutes of the film. Just my current thought on the subject, for your consideration.

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012The wait for the trailer is killing me...imagine the amount of theories or speculation that will this second trailer that lasted beautiful two minutes...If only with the first reached has talk about everything...

Yea, all this speculation & analysis are fun to do. But in the end, we may know next to nothing about the film story at all. But we all wish that there will be tons of scifi genre elements that we love.

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012@Engr101, in that case he's doing us a favor - when sitting there in the theater watching all the wonders that hadn't occurred to us, we'll enjoy the experience much more than if we had it mostly figured out ahead of time!

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012the first teaser trailer shows a few scenes of the overall framework of the movie, which incidentally takes three hours. so is that it is impossible to know exactly what is happening in it, but that's the idea... already that when a trailer you reveals the movie then we would be faced a epic fail...
PS: Mostly the scenes seem to go in order to delicious 8 final minutes...

My fear is that Fox would wind up releasing too much information in the new trailer (which I predict would be released with PHANTOM MENACE 3D re-release) and destroy the suspense & anticipation for the movie.

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012@Engr101... I hope that does not happen anything... but a movie of 2 hours are enough to choose. So it should not show too much key scenes.
PS: by the way, see my pictures in my topic chutulu "in the Mountains of Madness" ... lol

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012I don't even think they should show scenes from the latter half of the movie in the new trailer. Why does a trailer have to "summarize" the film?
Just think how crazy it'd be (at least for viewers like us who are passionate about the film) if everything we see in the trailers happens in the first half or two-thirds of the movie, and we have no idea going into the theater about what to expect from the remainder of the film (the last 8 minutes notwithstanding, as nobody will have a clue, I'm sure). For all we know, the derelict could crash with an hour left in the film.
I know it's wishful thinking on my part, because they have to balance the trailer content to appeal to the greatest number of people, not merely the film's most rabid fans.
Fall down seven times, get up eight.

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012Or he could have done what happened with Paranormal Activity 3, that director didn't put any actual movie footage in the trailer! I don't like to be shown ALL the main parts of a movie but at least some footage from it. . .

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012Even though their is a lot of wild speculation going on its great to see people engageing and letting their imaginations run free its rare to see that in anticipation for a movie and there are people here of all ages we need to bear that in mind when criticizing others views .
These people are letting their creative juices be expressed and that should be encouraged not condemed.
Hell this forum would not be anywhere like as exciting if we all censored our opinions for fear of being ridiculed so carry on guys it all makes for intresting reading and inspired thought.

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012I just had a thought; somebody said that Ridley may be using this first trailer to mislead us in someway. What’s the first thing we hear “WE WERE WRONG SO WRONG”. Could Ridley be referring to our assumptions?
If Ridley looks at this site from time to time (which I wouldn’t be surprised) I bet he has a good chuckle to his self.

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012It's all just a big tease? It would certainly fit with the secrecy around the project.

CBT1979
MemberOvomorph01/27/2012Sure, it is a teaser without any
Dialogs. The next trailer will surely have dialogs
to give the audience a brief message
What the story is about, but will not
Show too much either.
Unless they want to spoil too much.

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012Honestly, Ridley comes off as entirely self assuered, old world type who wouldn't care about a site like this....now, don't get me wrong...I believe he cares a whole hell of a lot about telling a good story for us all to enjoy, but he doesn't come off as someone who would bother with all this speculation.......
.....Of course I could be way off and he's secretly a member of the forum, posting wild, crazy, out there theories into the mix to keep us all off the rails and guessing our way into the movie.

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012Oh my god... What if bug hunter is Ridley! What if ripely clone 8 is Ridley! WHAT IF I AM RIDLEY!!!!!!

MemberOvomorph01/27/2012well who ever it is, if you see this Sir Scott, please HIRE ME for blade runner sequel, even if just for bringin coffee for the staff!!!

Starbeast
MemberOvomorph01/28/2012I would just love for the Blue Guy to be a Red Herring. Riddick does not belong in this film.
Also for the next trailer, I would just love for a voiceover by none other than John Hurt himself. That would be a nod to all the fans that yes this is Alien - no Ripley, no Starbeast but it still is Alien you're looking at.
"They went looking... For our beginning.... What they found... Could be our end..." in the husky, raspy throaty, voice of John Hurt. Would be cool.
