Just wait until cloud computing really kicks in and consumers don't need hard drives anymore. Then the shit will really hit the fan. Imagine one giant network containing all the data from the sordid commoners below. Then compare that with Pirate Bay, that DOESN'T store anything.

I have read the same at one community. It`s said that it is really the true plot , though it looks a little unbelieveable that the true plot could be so easily found and put in thread, it looks very logical, great and like a true masterpiece...I hope this plot will be near to what will be seen in the movie, but i still hope for some surprises... Anyway, thx for posting!

Yes! thanks BugHunter. I haven't seen this Plot in awhile. It was on IMDB for sometime before 20th Century Fox took it down. Strange thing is, it was posted by them and then immediately taken down a few days later. I never understood but this plot sure as hell seems pretty damn plausible if you ask me. Out of all the theories and leaked plots out there, I would have to say this one sounds most legit.

TBH, for all its failings, it's the best thing I've read that is out there. I would love for someone to show us something better, but it hasn't turned up yet. It does read very closely to another version, whether this reinforces its authenticity or emphasises its fakeness, is anyone's guess.

So this essentially sounds like Jack and the Beanstalk, only the giant gets all vengeful when he finds out his golden goose is gone. Poor, foolish Jack.

I'll be honest, I think this might actually work. We see from the trailers that David is handling an ample back on board the Prometheus/Magellen (humans stealing the SJ's resources). Plus Ridley has often talked (back in 2003 with the Quadriliogy release) about the eggs being used as a bio weapon. I think if this is the real deal, its a transcribed version of set hearsay from someone working on the film, the descriptions are obviously very blunt and phrases like "source code" push me to think this wasn't written by someone that holds all the knowledge on the film.

Hi Guys @Ripley8 If this was indeed posted by Fox only to be taken down so quick I think its one of Gods misinformation stunts sorry did I say God I ment Sir Ridley Unless its like Roswell and they pulled it and then start the misinformation LOL

@Hurkerlover possibly. I know that in previous threads we've attempted to discuss the depth of Fox's marketing campaign. I truly believe the leaked images and trailers were sent out on purpose, so why not a few leaked/fake plots?

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that i think this is a fake, my gut feeling says that its a fake, telling us what we want to hear and using certain keywords like "Weyland Corp" and "Paradise" and "FLT". They say if it sounds too good to be true then it usually is. IMO FAKE

this could easily be one of a hundred of lindoff's screenplays, think about how creative he can be and how many times ridley demanded perfection, i think the core of the movie is in there though

I will go with fake too. Look at the syntax and sentence structure. This plot looks like it's written by a 12 year old that was held back a couple grades. Unless it's "deliberately" leaked like Mentos said.

Some strong evidences that suggest some authenticity of the hypothetical plot: a) Either "Prometheus" or "Paradise" (previous name of the movie, by some sources) brings the idea of someone stealing knowledge (the first is obvious, the second also if you remember Adam, Eve, the Serpent and the Tree of Knowledge). b) Scott seems to be in love with "danikean" ideas, as many interviews testimony (apud Erik Von Daniken, a writer that was very influential in the seventies with a theory of the Gods of Mankind beeing in fact aliens visiting our planet). Some problems: a) the trailler strongly suggests that there are nothing benign in the alien species, even the SJ´s. No direct evidence, but the mood. It would requires a really deceptive cut to make that trailler from a movie with this plot. b) internal consistency is lacking. How in the Hell it is supposed that a tiny expeditionary crew with a bunch of scientists and some mercenaries could actually defeat an entire alien civilization supposed to be far more advanced than us? Even if they had succeeded in making some fuzz, by the time of "Alien" we should have been smeared into atoms, not a Nostromo ship investigating. c) the overall style of the history doesn´t fit into Scott style. But I concede this is wildly subjective.

I dont think they've gone to attack the SJ's Gods but to say hello there's no evidence of a large military presence. The company have sent the android to gather as much technology as posible for a profit, this does indeed fit in with the way previous Alien films so who knows there may be more to this. Christ thier bloody good at keeping us guessing aint they.

there are 34939438 fake plots more or less like that .... there is not one single thing that make me belive is real ...that is a "safe" fake plot ... also no references to any thing we have saw until now ( no mutants , no pregnancy , nothing about the central character , nothing about the head , temple or whatsoever ) so that fake plot must be quite old too .
With the ability to harness faster than light propulsion, after several years have elapsed the Prometheus arrives at the Zeta Riticuli star system.
Only after reading that do I realize how ridiculous the "five year" time frame was from the Kate Dickie article. Lambert said it would take ten months for the Nostromo to reach Earth. I'm not usually concerned about minor plot twists from the original film but this wasn't something she was guessing or could have misinterpreted. Her reply was blunt, "ten months". Match that up with the theory in this thread and it just gets even crazier. The writer shouldn't need to explain how fast the ship can travel in a literal sense, and if he's comparing it to Alien he shouldn't need to introduce the lightspeed argument anyway because it's not what the audience remembers.

I have to agree with Mentos. This sounds like the closest thing to an actual plot. I also agree that its probably only "a transcribed version of set hearsay from someone working on the film". That's why a lot of the references seem off (Light speed, source code, etc.) The person who wrote/dictated the plot (as seen in this thread) probably isn't in-the-know about the finer details of the movie/story. Furthermore, the version transcribed is probably preliminary and does not feature many small changes made throughout production/post-production. Again, still just speculation and of course, I could be wrong, but i think this is it. Also, I heard from some one actually in-the-know, that the real plot was indeed leaked and on the net. He/She could not tell me where it was, but they did say the "Spaiths - Harvest" script was not it. I was told this when I first read the Spaiths script.

I agree with Frantz...their is 2 little mention of way 2 many things...no mention of the suit that Ridley hinted at either....However I believe this plot might be accurate in some places....but certainly not all...partially true and partially false....difficult to tell which are which tho?

mmmm....something sure does smell good in here. I gotta say this plot line got me twitchin' in my pants initially. I think it does hold water in some aspects. The Von Daniken based theme intrigued me as did the mention of "Paradise" as I am sure that I have read that that was the original title of the script. But as we all know, Ridley Scott is a crafty SOB and in all possibility the above mentioned plot is indeed studio generated misinformation...god I love this shit.

I don't buy the entire "humans meet the aliens and peacefully exchange information until a crew member gets greedy" element. I think the plot will be closer to "humans wander around alien world until they find the ampules and open Pandora's Box pissing off Pandora".

@ Snorkelbottom I don't know what your deal is, but I prefer good imaginative ideas and the forums to discuss them. I do not like veiled innuendos bordering on insults. Since I do not know you personally why do you find it difficult to believe I could agree with you just as easily as disagree. My comments are based on my opinions, and not the poster to whom I am replying. If this is all an attempt at humor please remember you cannot convey tone in a post. If it is not humor then keep any personal comments about me to yourself.

Its called British sarcasm Rakkasan, very, very dry humour. Think of the TV series Frasier, but as dry as a desert. Words of advice - better get used to it, some are drier than me (I wont mention no names), do not take anything anyone says personally, they are just words and most importantly lighten up. As Yoda once said "These are the ways of the forum, be mindful of your emotions, they will betray you"

That seems rather hypocritical because you chastised Tec-B in another post (about the Weyland-Yutani logo) for what you perceived to be an insult. It is such an easy excuse to say whatever you want and then follow with "it's only a joke" or "you don't understand my humor". A famous comedian once said that a joke that has to be explained isn't funny. He was British. Went by the name of Dudley Moore. For the record I enjoy British humor. Spent many years stationed in Germany and fell in love with BBC (especially Dr. Who). British humor is dry, but it's also very witty. Your version of "humor" is nothing like that.

Nah not going for this one, the SJ's sound too reasonable. I think they will be completely amoral and the humans will be treated like the insignificant beings that Scott is trying to convey. Plus as someone else mentioned it reads like a 12 year old wrote it. I reckon the whole theme of the film will be, and I quote....."that we're all just these little gnats crawling around on our little planet" Depressing & disturbing, it will poke fun at our ideas and ideals. Religion and morality are firmly in the cross hairs. @ Snorks, british sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, maybe you should tone it down a bit and try and be a little bit less abrasive.

If you follow up on the Tec-B business we actual did have a full on disagreement and chastised each other, then we made up and shook hands (metaphorically speaking) and have been friends since. I have never insulted you, but it seems like your trying to insult me and I am at a loss as to why, if you don't get my humour then thats fine there are many others that do. I gave you some friendly advice and it seems you have thrown it back in my face, fine. BTW - Dudley Moore was never funny, ever.

I agree Enderwiggin. A pleasant, welcome SJ alien race would be a Speilberg movie, but this is Ridley film. Ridley will heap on the mystery, tension and horror. I suspect Ridley will keep us wondering what the space jockey race really looks like until the end of the film just as in the original 'Alien'.

Very little of this plot sounds interesting to me. There are few elements about it that work, such as sending the derelict toward earth. But when it speaks of the alien race welcoming humans and having a political and military empire, well, that sounds like real garbage! How ridiculous is it to have an alien world's structure similar to that of humans? Very mundane and disappointing for a mysterious and scary alien universe. An alien world, in my opinion, should be a very bizarre experience and unlike anything we've ever seen, chock full of mysteries that keep you coming back for more (ie- the Space Jockey in Alien). Ridley can, however, take a simple formula and create high art with it. He surely can do it with Prometheus. I've heard better and more wondrous theories and story suppositions on this forum that are so fantastic, theories I'd LOVE to see!

Anyway, back to Prometheus. As others have said, I also feel the script is too simplistic and mundane. Alien worlds, in my opinion, are just that-- far out and bizarre. Ridley loves to spin a good yarn and leave something open ended to keep us coming back for more. Or perhaps a conclusion with two or more directions the story could be going, uncertain of which path to take (ie- David Lynch). Ridley did say epic! Weeeeeee!

I don't believe the plot line to Prometheus would be anywhere that near that epic. Certainly, there will be epic shots, but horror tends to work better when more time is spent getting to know the characters rather than painting them as archetypes. Alien, for example, was essentially a character driven story with brief moments of action. Also, literally half the film was spent developing the ambience of the situation. I think Prometheus will move along those lines. As long as were talking possible plot lines. Historically, explorations have ended four ways. 1. The expedition encountered difficulties and had to turn back early. Nothing of interest discovered. 2. The expedition returns with stories of untold wonders and artifacts. 3. The expedition returns with stories of untold horrors and physical depredations. 4. The expedition disappears without a trace, and maybe its fate is discovered later. With Ridley Scott at the helm, I would put my money on three and four.

Scott has talked about "ancient astronaut theories"......ugh. The notion that a vastly superior intelligence which has survived long enough to conquer the interstellar void would share their technology with us...........well, it's just utter codswallop. Absolutely no good could come from any such gifting, because we'd instantly set about finding out how we could use whatever it was, to off each other/gain a competitive advantage. End of story. It would only work if the SJs shared their tech, just to screw with us; to see how much of a mess they could make of our civilization.
