MemberOvomorph06/30/2011Jon Sapihts, who wrote the original script for the Alien prequel before Damon Lindelof was hired for a re-write, also penned a script called Shadow 19. Just read it online. Awesome. It has the military and action elements of Aliens plus a terraforming ship named Prometheus. Obviously Ridley isn’t making that film because Sapihts wrote another script for Prometheus and Lindelof rewrote that. Anyway it’s still a great read.

I read the script the other day. I really hope they changed about 90% of what John wrote I didn't like it. Original Aliens as Mantis type creatures that live in huts? Plus Prometheus being an unmanned terraforming ship with a Matter Copier at the heart. I can't buy it.

MemberOvomorph07/6/2011Yeah, not as Ridley's Prometheus script for sure. I never considered it that but I enjoyed it on it's own, sort of like a great comic book. I just thought it was a bright spot to pop up in the middle of all the speculation. This whole terraforming thing, destroying civilizations to build a better world. Could be the new si-fi angle for awhile with it's philosophical implications.

MemberOvomorph07/24/2011This script would mak a great video game. I mean, can you repair the teraforming device before the shadow 19 copy? Then, the gamer is presented with the ethical dilemma of the destruction of the alien civilation. What do you do?
