Making alien life from different organisms

As with the original movie idea, the Alien did not need a queen to lay eggs, the crew was transformed. I imagine that we will see some crew members being "transformed" back into some genetic organism or even a crude egg. I think this idea will play a part in the movie. Seems like the jockey's are simply swapping and mixing DNA to form different life forms as part of their business of planting life on new worlds if that is what they are doing.
