MemberOvomorph12/18/2011that ridley is submitting a PG13 and R cut to fox for review. No idea where the info is coming from but they usually have to be able to cite a reliable source.
2 options here IMO: Ridleys done an AVP and has sold the fans out ;) or.. the fox execs wouldn't shut about the 12 to 18 demographic and ridley has done a PG13 cut to shut them up, but it won't be anything like showable in theatres (bad on purpose).
Ridley i faith in you :)

MemberOvomorph12/18/2011The clever money is on the PG13. PG13=larger audience demographic=more $$$. Obviously the question is; will this compromise the scare factor? A L I E N was an R-rated film, so it makes sense that Prometheus should be.

MemberOvomorph12/18/2011either way it looks like extra dvd content to me...yeeeehaaaaa !!!!

MemberOvomorph12/18/2011Mentos,
I agree with you on that....However...
Just my opinion here...but...
Making a movie 18 and over makes it more appealing to a 13 year old male...no?
Making a movie PG makes it less so....no...?
"All I am saying is" the entire argument has a massive whole in it's under belly !!!
LOL.

MemberOvomorph12/19/2011@Spartacus that is very true in the home setting. More people might get the DVD, or download the film illegally. But in terms of the box office numbers I think PG-13 opens the film up to a larger number of people.
At the end of the day FOX is a business. They will be looking for a sound return on their investment, and PG-13 offers them a 'low-risk' option.
