In the movie "Alien" we see the so called "Space Jockey" fossilized, sitting on a chair. But isn't there something wrong with him? OMG! There is a hole on his chest! LOL

It is clear and "down to earth", that this hole was made from inside out by a "chest burster". But this raises the question: what came out from that hole? I mean was it a boy or a girl? Funny thought huh?
Remember the "thousands of eggs" scene? What on LV-426 has layed those eggs? James Cameron's answer in the movie sequel was that a "Queen Alien" was responsible for laying the eggs, but that doesn't seem to be the answer in the first movie and definitely not in Ridley Scott's universe.
So what was made first, the Alien or the Egg?

MemberOvomorph12/22/2011i think the aliens is ridleys's universe are neither male or female ... if they are a sort of "weapon" ( ridleys said many time that the derelict could be a sort of bomber ) they are genetically built to reproduct and without a specific sex .

MemberOvomorph12/22/2011Yes indeed, and honestly I prefer this version than that of a Queen. It looks like the Space Jockeys have engineered it for "reasons unknown". If you look at H.R Giger's drawings you find many answers of the story plot:

Can you decipher the above painting?

MemberOvomorph12/23/2011"which came first, the chicken or the egg"
it's even more confusing than that....
"Which came first, the Alien, The Egg, or the Facehugger"

MemberTrilobite12/23/2011LOL, it really does make me laugh when people say "which came first the chicken or the egg" - The egg of course, dinosaurs laid eggs, small percentage evolve into birds, such as the chicken.
In terms of Alien, I like the Queen (and Princess) idea. Just because it essentially makes them bugs doesn't weaken them in my view. Insects are one of the oldest forms of life, can exist virtually anywhere and after any catastrophic event, and outnumber us by at least a million to one... making them 8 feet tall with acid for blood and using us as hosts to propagate, well that makes them frightening as hell in my opinion.

MemberOvomorph12/28/2011If I can find it I'll post up my Alien life cycle chart that covered the life cycle of the Alien to incorporate the Brett/Egg transformation, the Alien Queen and the super facehugger of Alien 3. This was going to form the basis of my next article for Aliens magazine before it folded. Dave Hughes (editor at the time) and Lee Brimmicombe Wood were the only other people to see it. While it doesn't answer what came first, it does try to incorporate the seemingly disparate stages of the Alien lifecycle. Apologies as it's mapped out on paper. The final concept would have involved stills pulled from the films. I may get round to doing that one day...

MemberOvomorph12/29/2011OK here's the picture of the lifecycle chart I did years ago

I mapped it out on paper first then I was going to do it with text and pictures but before this happened Aliens Magazine folded. This is the first time anyone has seen this outside of Dave and Lee.
