Hi guys, first time poster here... was browsing around the interwebs and found this... http://alienexplorations.blogspot.com/2009/02/space-jockeys-origins-in-swiss-family.html it's a really interesting blog, but if you go down to the bit that says "g. Chris Foss's space jockey" it talks about dan o'bannon's initial script for alien where a space jockey's head is found and taken back to the ship as proof of the life form's existence. sounds a bit like what might be happening during that clip in the trailer...

it's not that simple to determine whether similarities in literature/art is intentional or coincidental. there's definitely some convincing links being established, but as a whole, his argument is a little weak. what the author could have done better was to provide citations. for example, he states that dan o'bannon saw the film planet of the vampires and based his own concepts off it. this is stated as fact, however no proof is ever provided. we are simply to take his word for it. even if he were not lying or deluding himself, it could be a rumor or a misquote. but a citation will allow the reader to determine for themselves through context the authenticity of that particular statement.

okay, citation for that has been added. if you do find any more problems with the information on my blog, I'd be very glad to attempt to fill in the details. Half the time I think I've typed everything out and then it seems as if half of it has vanished. But I would indeed like to provide citations for every little thing because it does indeed make a difference.

Okay, citation has been provided for O'Bannon's claim to having seen Planet of the Vampires. Should you find anything more that I've overlooked, I'd always be happy to know and see what I can do to make the site better
