MemberOvomorph12/24/2011There was a prior thread with two distinct pics of the cockpit in the direlect from Alien and Prometheues. This is my opinion as to why one looks scaily and biomechanical via alien and the other looks more mechanical via prometheus. I think with all the Theories floating around that the possible theory of the Zenomorph or alien being a result of a mistake fits as to why the derelict looks different from Alien and Prometheus. I think the Bio and mechanical gap was merged after the Zenomorph was created helping alter the ship and there is a possibility what ever bursted out of the SJ's chest may have helped change the environment into a hive on the derelict in Alien giving it a biomechanical look. The dirilect in Prometheus shows the true SJ's mecha and how it's more mechanical with the aid of genetics but not so fused into one.

MemberOvomorph12/24/2011Interesting theory. I had been thinking about this myself and actually heading towards your thinking.

MemberOvomorph12/24/2011 it makes sense but honestly i don't think there can be a theory at all. i just think they made it to look more modern for today's style. not that your idea is bad but remember, they need to worry about the main plot and things for a 2 hour movie give or take, i dont think they would take the time out of the movie to explain why a set looks different, not just to your theory but to any theory.

MemberOvomorph12/24/2011I'll go for James Cameron "ALIENS" theory. Inside the derelict overtime was
covered in a secreted resin made by whatever thing came out of the
dead space jockey. I think what we're seeing in Prometheus is the true
mechanical look of the ship and what the space jockey actually was.

MemberOvomorph12/25/2011I'm new here so please excuse me if this has been discussed.
While looking at the trailer, I noticed a "being" walking towards the Space Jockey chair.
If you look closely, you can see the chair rising up into position and the "person" looking at it and moving toward it.
Is this a Human Being or a Space Jockey? If it's Human, than the dimensions of the chair are proportionally too small. If it's a Space Jockey without its "Bio Suit," than it looks remarkably Human and explains the fact that we are indeed their children.
Would appreciate comments.
Thanks.

MemberOvomorph12/25/2011hello RSAND ...yes we discussed it ..of course we cant be sure of what its ..
someone think is one of the crew mutating ( HALLOWAY maybe ?)
someone else that is a SJ but others think they will not be shown in a trailer
can be also an android ...
to me is one of that two actors : Embree or Marshall green

MemberOvomorph12/25/2011To me it's the same principle with the same type chair so it's part of the "Engineer" races' technology and therefore doesn't necessarily even have to be the exact same chair we saw in Alien. It could be a completely different place this chair is located or on a completely different ship...we simply do not know...Yet !!!

MemberOvomorph12/25/2011The cockpit is the same, I'm guessing a SJ sits in it then the Bio-Mech suit builds overtop of it. Would make for a very cool 'transformation' sequence

MemberOvomorph12/25/2011What is confusing is that the height of the approaching person is significantly taller than Dallas, Kane and Lambert as they stood next to the chair in Alien.
