MemberOvomorph01/9/2012From here I see two options for the extended trailer release...
I read 20th Century Fox does have ad time during the superbowl, so that might be a possibiity. Then we have to look at upcoming Fox releases for 2012 of which there are 6 movies being released before June 8th. By all accounts it's a slow winter/spring release schedule as evidenced by the following...
Red Tails on 1/20... George Lucas WW2 movie
Chronicle on 2/3... A drama
Star Wars Episode 1 in 3D on 2/10
This Means War on 2/17... Spy movie, probably a comedy with Reese Witherspoon
Learning to Fly on 3/30... A drama
The Three Stooges on 4/13... Yes, those three stooges.
So I see three possibilities Red Tails, Episode 1 or the Superbowl. My money is on the Superbowl. I just don't see Fox attaching the expanded trailer to any of the mediocre movies that are scheduled. Fox wouldn't attach their big sci fi blockbuster trailer on a movie from another production company... or would they? What do you think?

MemberOvomorph01/9/2012Good question, I suppose some of it depends on the eventual rating given to the film. Apparently, there is to be two cuts but the suits will no doubt opt for the PG13 cut. A PG13 Alien movie??? Is that even possible???
Given that 20CF have moved it from a spring to summer release, they're expecting big things and therefore the Superbowl will be fitting. However, me being stuck in the UK, I still have to wait for the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) to rate even the first trailer let alone the next extended one.
But I do want to go see even just the trailer in IMAX 3D - love the trailer.

I say 3 Stooges due to time of release.
