Guy Pearce only in Prometheus "for a minute"

MTV caught up with Guy Pearce at the Golden Globe awards and he had this to say... [url=http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2012/01/18/guy-pearce-confirms-his-role-in-prometheus/]Pearce's comment[/url] Now, I'm guessing he is one of the crew because, if you agree this is Pearce in these pictures from the trailer preview 1 and the trailer itself, he is clearly wearing a space suit. Interesting question is if he is part of the crew and is only in for a minute, what happens to him? Or maybe he is not "part of the crew", but how do you account for the space suit? Fuck I hate MTV blocking videos in the UK...BASTARDS! Anyway...erm I'm not sure. In one of the original leaked scripts/plots/rumours one of the crew gets his leg ripped off by a creature in/around the ample room. In one of the leaked trailers we see something jumping from one of the crew to another. So I'm guessing Pierce and/or Holloway gets totalled by some sort of creature. I'd imagine he'll get killed pretty early when the crew first enter the ample room.

So maybe hes the only one with glasses ...and that carry us to say that hes him in the red lasers scene ( and hes near the mohawk guy ...that spell bad ending ) OF course you dont hire him if the scene is not pretty important ( like it was in the hurt locker ) BUT anyway im very disappointed because hes a so great actor ..... will i end to like more a popcorn movie like MS:One than Prometheus ? we will see ..

I am not sure that is him in the picture. I think he will play the benefactor of the mission and in heavy prosthetics to look old, maybe only at the start of the movie before the mission sets out. I always took that fella in pain to be Benedict Wong.

[b]@Frantz and @Theresprom[/b] it is him gents, take a closer look at his eyes, you can clearly see his glasses (matched by the first pictures posted). I'm not sure about you guys but I just make out a pair of glasses on his face. I'm guessing: *The alarms trip *Beardy man gets hit by the pre-facehugger *He falls to the ground *Pierce goes to his aid *Pre-face hugger jumps from Beardy man to Pierce

@Mentos I am still not so sure. The interweb states Guy Pearce is 5'10" but in that first picture he towers above the rest.Rafe Spall however, is 6'3".If that is Guy Pearce, Noomi Rapace must be around 5' I do agree with the laser idea though, is this what can eviscerate them in a heartbeat I wonder?

Theusprom, I've read she is 5'4". And when Scott was asked about Rapace being like Weaver (Shaw vs. Ripley), Scott said "Yeah, I mean, they’re quite different women. Sigourney, to start with, is 6’1’’ in stocking feet, and Noomi insists that she is 5’1’’ in stocking feet." So, Pearce would be about 9" taller than Rapace and that picture would then make sense (he could also be standing on something).

Membrane, very true he could be standing on something, but why would he be?Also, Pearce is only two inches taller than Scott, but it looks a lot more in that picture. I just don't get the point of casting an actor like Guy Pearce only for him to get wiped out very quickly, unless like the Hurt Locker, it has a bearing on the story.

I think the humans are mapping the layout of the tunnels. And I think the Ridley refers to the Alien DNA/pre-facehugger when he talks about evisceration.

I don't think that the red laser is from the human crew. It is originating from the ceiling. Plus Guy Pierce (or whoever it is) is looking up at the source of the light as though he is surprised. My interpretation is that the crew is exploring and sets off some sort of alarm and defense mechanism, resulting in acid-helmet dude. Could the same defense mechanism have taken out the dead jockey on the floor in the ampule room seen in the promo pics? Hmmm . . . .

[b]@Tyrannosaurus[/b], The guy in the top picture between Rapace and Scott is Guy Pearce, I'm fairly certain. However, you may be right that the one in the lower picture is Rafe Spall.
