Site Staff and Moderation

I have implemented a few new security features to the site. As these forums have become extremely popular and contain over 1,900 members and over 12,000 posts we will be moderating new threads and replies more. We had a bit of a spam attack 3 weeks ago from a couple members. They are now BANNED from starting threads, posting in threads and commenting on articles. A user may be banned if we feel the user is abusing their privileges here on Prometheus-Movie.com and causing trouble in the community. I have also implemented a "LOCK THREAD" feature for myself and staff. This basically cuts off new posts to a specific thread if the thread is: - A duplicate or identical in content to another thread - Contains arguments and personal attacks between members - Contains offensive pictures/language - Has been idle for months We as staff may also edit your posts if you: - Don't use proper BBcode to display images - Don't surround links with URL tags, or if you post long-form links This is to ensure that reading threads/posts are easy for everyone. Not everybody knows how to embed a link with BBcode. We offer suggestions on the "Start Discussion" page, but still some may not know. So, to resolve this our staff will be on the look out to fix this for you. Members with the title "Admin" or "Staff" have the ability to lock threads and ban troublesome users. This is to ensure that things run smoothly here and remain a positive atmosphere for fans of Prometheus and the Aliens universe. This is your forum fans, take care of it.
