MemberOvomorph02/8/2012Hi I'm new. In an article over at EW.com concerning Ridleys' second best sic-fi classic (Blade-Runner) the question was put to Ridley regarding the recent speculation as to whether Harrison Ford would be reprising his role as Rick Deckard. If you're interested in the article, here you go http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/02/08/ridley-scott-harrison-ford-blade-runner/. What interested me and I'm not sure if this has been discussed by the community, is that Ridley is clearly planning and indeed fleshing out a story for Prometheus 2. This has amazing implications not only for the continuation of this story as a new franchise, but also for the film that we are all eagerly awaiting, barely containing our excitement. What does this mean for the narrative of the first prometheus and the effect this news has on the ending of the film. Just a thought. I was amazed that EW.com didn't pick up on this or indeed mention it as an important development of the Prometheus and Alien universe.

MemberOvomorph02/8/2012I believe it was Ridley himself who said months ago he'd like to tell the story of the "being" in the SJ "suit" and then... maybe visit its homeworld? Sounds like a sequel to me!

MemberOvomorph02/8/2012Thanks for posting that interview. It certainly sounds like he would be in favor of another Prometheus movie by his knock on wood and grin gesture. I'm sure it depends on how well the fim does, but it makes me wonder how they end the film :)
So for your enjoyment... Prometheus 2 speculation! And the best thing abount Prometheus 2 speculation is that we aren't burdened down by facts and information from the first movie. J/K!
Seriously though. No matter what happens in the first movie, a second movie could be done under the premise of a rescue mission, or possibly a dual mission with a second ship leaving shortly after Prometheus launches.

MemberOvomorph02/8/2012@Velocet, great post. Lets just hope FOX lets Ridley Scott make a sequil, and let only Ridley Scott do it and not anouther director. Fingers crossed.

MemberOvomorph02/8/2012Ridley is already attached to do BLADE RUNNER sequel, THE KIND ONE, and an adaptation of THE COUNSELOR. Either the BR sequel is really THE PROMETHEUS sequel, or it will be a while before we see one.

MemberOvomorph02/8/2012At Comic Con last year, Ridley did say he loved Lindelof's script so much he wanted him to work on another one straight away...
it's on youtube somewhere :)

MemberOvomorph02/8/2012Well that's exciting! Sounds like Prometheus 2 happens as long as Prometheus does well... so I'll be doing my best to make sure that happens.

MemberOvomorph02/8/2012I hope that Prometheus is substantial enough not to require or even suggest a sequel. I think asking for a sequel to an excellent movie smacks of selfishness and immaturity.

MemberOvomorph02/8/2012Ridley scott recently discussed a possible sequel in an interview that was posted earlier.

MemberOvomorph02/8/2012So, right now, all there is is the concept of doing a Blade Runner film? Nothing more than that?
Right. I just thought Prometheus was so enjoyable ā returning to the world of science fiction was so fun ā that I wanted to [go back to Blade Runner, too]. Iām also thinking about what the hell I might do for a Prometheus 2.
Do you think there will be one?
[Knocks the wood coffee table and grins]
It doesn't get much better than that boys and girls.......
