MemberOvomorph02/19/2012 in all honestly to me it does not matter if the queen exist in the world of ridleys (alien) or prometheus for that matter. i would actually love to see what the alien is of itslef. the idea of creating eggs from humans is scarier then a queen. ( u can kill the queen but an infection of alien orgins seems alot worse and more painfull then what a queen can do) but if they where created using bioengineering. then (because its life cycle is faster then ours) there reproductive organs change from infections to actual egg laying (after they create an egg that can produce a queen. even if they where engineered. we come from the jockeys too (apparentley) we where also engineered and we have evolved to do so many different things. just a though

Case in point, for months before Cloverfield came out I was DYING to see what the beastie looked like. And HATED what ended up on screen. It wasn't at all scary. The little flea type things were better designed than the big monster, I thought.

MemberOvomorph02/19/2012ha ha yeah i agree i mean it would have been scarier if we never saw the cloverfelid monster. i think what ever we see will be good. i think there will be humans. jockeys and or enginners (maybe one and the same) and the monster. i love the queen alien but i know ridley has something that will blow our minds and to me prometheus fallows the Alien cannon (singular stories). not so much the alien quadrilogy cannon ( many stories diffrent minds)

MemberOvomorph02/19/2012LOL I agree with @Cypher, scared me more with the bugs of the underground tunnel (very claustrophobic) and the Cloverfield monster was a total disappointment. On the other hand are the scenes of the leaked trailer where you can see what appears to be a parasite coming out of an egg, or helmet. It has been speculated that it may be something that emerges from the head of space jockey dead, i.e. the skull then studied in the scanner in the laboratory of the Prometheus. Then, I come to mind the words of Scott on small things that determine the fate of the plot. I think something really frightening appear in Prometheus and may come to be equally terrifying and insane as seen in Alien. well I hope so.
Best regards

MemberOvomorph02/19/2012i truly think that we will see hints from alien in the beginning of the movie and then it will pick up so much we will forget everything about alien and be drawn into a world that puts alien as the middle most important yet the tiniest puzzle piece. and then not untill the last few minutes will we remember that we have been watching an alien movie and i bet the connection will be so great that we will never ever see Alien in the same way again ( it would be like the eqiuvelent of finding out that one of the crew of prometheus is in the jockey chair) just an example not sure what to expet

Co-AdminMemberOvomorph02/19/2012@Shambhala, that was one of the best scenes in that movie, besides the bit where the chick exploded behind that screen. I actually laughed at that only because the character annoyed me for some reason I still can't put my finger on :-P
@elder, I hope that's the case, because the Star Wars prequels were terrible, and I don't want to see another stuff-up of that magnitude happen to another of my favorite movies of all time. I refuse to think about the AvP crap-fests :-P

MemberOvomorph02/19/2012Perhaps the Space Jockey (whoever he is) is the real Alien Queen. Maybe is the father and creator of all Xenomorphs but literally ... (beyond the concept of genetic engineering, perhaps the Space Jockeys are not gods, perhaps they are creations of the gods like the humans). Or maybe they are gods but in the end of the movie one of them pays the price for his dangerous creation. But considering that these creatures use biological suits, then a human or android could be behind the classic Space Jockey of 1979.

MemberOvomorph02/19/2012i wish cameron whom is a brilliant director could have made the aliens a little more intelligent, not attacking the humans like ants although there was one scene were they cut the power off which was smart. but cameron didn't want to copy and paste Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic and he did the only original thing anyone could have done with a sequel = make it different and take on another genre. Ridley, Dan O'bannon liked aliens.
only problem is the queen, he never explained where this came from. i liked the idea of these monsters cacooning and creating eggs out of its prey = makes it more menacing.
i can't remember where but i heard a good explination:
In 'Alien' it came from a male human host so it took Kane's figure and traits.
So what if it comes from a female host? wouldn't it be able to reproduce like its host?
alien 3 however took the piss especially with the mysterious egg (and dont insult my intelligence by stating the queen laid it there because it was in the landing gear not INSIDE the Effing vessel) which didnt lay one embryo BUT TWO

MemberOvomorph02/20/2012i was always under the impression that the queen was just a random embryo and that the aliens would do the cocoon thing when there was not queen to make the eggs. kind of like a back up plan.
