Let's be honest, most of us have probably had one or two since the trailer's release.
But anyways, he makes a comment that got me thinking:
"...In fact, we didn’t even see Space Jockeys. But what we did find was a mysterious machine of utmost mystery and machineriness. It was massive, and was clearly Space Jockey tech. We did the only thing we possibly could do: we turned it on.
We quickly realized this was no mere machine, but a repository of all of the DNA of every creature that the Space Jockeys had ever come into contact with -- an Ark if you will, almost like that underground seed bank they have in Norway..."
What if the Derelict space craft is a metaphor for the Bible's Noah's Ark?! It could explain the theories behind DNA storage and bio-engineering. The Jockeys could have been travelling from planet to planet saving entire species, or containing their DNA in storage compartments (URNS) to preserve the species.
In the Christian Bible, Noah's Ark was divided into sections to accommodate for two of every animal on Earth so that they may reproduce once the "FLOOD" had passed.
Now, that all being said we can come at this theory from so many ways. But I think this might be a focal point in our speculation about the purpose behind the Engineer race and why there's an ampule room of a human face. There could be many ampule rooms, with statues of different species! MAYBE even a chamber of Eggs and a statue of a Xenomorph Head...
But I think one aspect of this metaphor which has not been hypothesized yet it - What could the FLOOD be a metaphor for? Could the Jockeys be trying to save other races from an impending doom?
What are your thoughts?
