http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/jan/17/alien-prequel-ridley-scott-prometheus
Don't think there is anything new in the details but the way its written is slightly different in tone than previous articles.
on a side note i'd of liked to see his original Robin Hood idea :)

MemberOvomorphMar-08-2012 9:21 AMThe author of the article ...was a little off about the release date:
"Having found their preferred form, it seems the film-makers are not hanging around. Prometheus already has a release date of March 9 2012."
Considering this article was written last January (Monday 17 January 2011), I'm not surprised.

MemberOvomorphMar-08-2012 5:16 PMThanks @Cousinwalter, but the whole is it or isn't it a prequel debate was pretty much settled by Ridley a while back....we have it posted in our News Archive here....Prometheus Is An Alien Prequel Says Ridley Scott
But here's the meat of the story for you.....Ridley saying it is a prequel...
“I have to redesign the elements that led to the thing you finally see in Alien, which is the face hugger…I don’t want to repeat it. The alien in a sense as a shape is worn out..maybe we’ll come up with something different. What we’re trying to do is squeeze in two prequels…if you explain who he was and where he came from then you want to find out where they came from and you might was to go to this place where his people come from. ” – Ridley Scott
