Second Leaked Script
Prometheus Forum Topic

Mr. Ripley
MemberOvomorphMar 11, 20125926 Views79 RepliesI read the first several paragraphs of the "leaked script" and stopped reading for two reasons.
1. I liked where the story line was heading and if this is the actual script, I decided that I don't want it to ruin the mystery and experience for me.
2. On the other hand, I find it very difficult and damn near impossible to believe that this is an actual script because there are way too many spelling and grammatical errors through out it. For example, they're, their and there, you're and your, and it's and its are misused constantly through out. Also, they refer to a "migraine" as a "mind grain" and they call "duct tape" "duck tape". This can't be an official script because any script writer that doesn't know basic high school grammar should not be writing at all.
I can see one or two errors here and there as being acceptable, but with as many as I saw in the first several paragraphs, it makes it very difficult for me to believe that this script is legitimate. An amateur had to have written this.
The one thing that sealed the deal ultimately for me in the first several paragraphs that lead me to believe that this script can't be real: How in the hell is it that the ship's mechanic/engineer doesn't know what an FTL drive is? That's like the main component of the ship. How is he going to fix it if it breaks down?

After reading this supposed script, i can say that it has the backbone but all I know is that I can take this with a grain of salt...though some of what was written fits with what we have seen so far....but hey, we will find out sat with the release of the new trailer that will make St. Patrick's Day even better...a cold Guiness in one hand and the trailer in the other...

Mr.JMarch 12, 2012
Also, I am sure the ship came with Ikea instructions in case the crew could not figure out the FTL engine....it is made of legos.
RalphieMarch 12, 2012
The script is terrible, no character development, dialog reads like it was written by a 6th grader. Obviously a fake.

GavinMarch 12, 2012
They that's another thing...
According to this FAKE script FTI stands for Faster Than Light, funny I thought it was FTL.
@ Cain1977 - I've seen that you may believe the script to be real, look at my observations higher up on this page. That is way too many errors, even for a first draft.

Mr.JMarch 12, 2012
Yeah, I have seen the many errors now after reading the whole thing now. I guess some fanboy had a lot of time on his hands, well lotion and a picture of Charlize and decided to do some trolling and stir up the bees nest....
Just have to wear blinders now until June....keep all the leaked supposed stuff out of sight....
Biomechanoid XMarch 12, 2012
I've read the whole "scrip" and must say, compared to the trailer preview, it sounds true. There are scenes in the preview trailer (i.e. the "turbines" of the prometheus in vertical position, a dead body on the floor in the hangar bay) which aren't released till the preview. The writer must be very fast in writing the whole one. Sure, there are passages that read very "faky", but maby the writer has written it down in a hurry.
I hope this is really an early draft and they've changed a lot in the final one. Looking forward to my most anticipated movie of 2012 (besides The Dark Knight Rises & The Hobbit)

flacnvinylMarch 12, 2012
@bunnypf - Why resort to attacks over my opinion or anyone elses? Does my opinion offend you?
1- Yes, I do work with scripts. Clients come to me with what they view to be a final script and I have to sit down with them, correct all sorts of crap (mostly anachronisms, poor dialog that wont read well, so forth). So yes, this reminds me of an early draft of a script. In film, be it movies, tv, or documentaries, scripts get written, re-written and re-written again. It is possible that this is an early draft. It is also possible that this is party of Scott's war of misinformation. He could've hired an intern to write this up for some cash on the side, leak it, and whala... we have a script!
Until Fox issues a takedown order, this script is fake. The moment they issue one for all the sites holding it, we'll know it was an early draft.
2. I am not responsible for this script. I don't have time to waste writing fanfic. I'm just looking forward to the movie so I check on here every day or so. If I were to write one it would have alot more androids turning human and ships turning into living beings!
I've read the majority of it and I still think this is an early draft of what we will see in the film. Wasn't it Jon Spaihts who said he had a script in circulating that some folks liked (Passenger maybe?). Its possible that this is the first re-write of his (or Damon's) initial script.
@db - You are are spot on. If it is legit, someone's head is going on the chopping block. No cease and desist from Fox... yet.

GavinMarch 12, 2012
The engine thing was figured out by Biomechanic on these forums ages ago.
The temple, by myself on these forums ages ago.
The landing struts from the engines by myself and Biomechanic.
There is nothing new in that FAKE script whatsoever.

Mr.JMarch 12, 2012
Could of been someone who seen the script very briefly or worked on the film and knows a lot and wrote from memory what they saw...who knows...
There are some rather not good moments in the script but like I said...the backbone of the story is there and this is how Spec Scripts start....they start boney and then after many revisions, they have meat on them....
I am kind of partial to it and it is the best at least fake attempt I have seen so far, despite the grammatical parts...
ShaneMarch 12, 2012
A lot of people also called the shooting outline that leaked fake as well....
and they all looked stupid when the TED talk bit hit the internet.
NOTE: I haven't read the script yet. I will in a bit. I am just unsure to call anything fake as that was totally written off by the avpgalaxy community and well, yeah, we saw how that turned out.
ShaneMarch 12, 2012
Ok read a bit. I am not calling it fake but, if that is real wow....That is Michael Bay bad.

BiomechanicMarch 12, 2012
Speech Storyboard Page
That leaked speech storyboard must have been intentional doctored then. What caught my eye was the folds and wrinkles in the paper don't affect the shot block lines. The viral campaign team must have decided to leak the real digital file but wanted it look more "authentic" and someone screwed it up. All they had to do was print out the file then crumple the paper and then scan that paper jeez...
RizzleMarch 12, 2012
Fake. What a dreadful ending too!
Whoever wrote it, based the script off the teaser trailer. Most of that trailer, is footage from five scenes of the film. The actual film will feature many more scenes.
Hint:"teaser" trailer.
I really don't know where people find the time to put together this kind of hoax. They must have absolutely nothing better to do with their time.

GavinMarch 12, 2012
the speech storyboard was obviously done intentionally to throw us all a curveball. It looked 100% fake and had amateurish errors which added to the belief that it was fake.
Looks to me like Ridley and Fox are playing dirty on this one, thats not fair.

The High PriestMarch 12, 2012
OK Gents (and ladies) - I have just spent the evening reading the "leaked script" - Firstly lets not bang on about the bad grammer proving its fake - That is a technical issue as opposed to a creative one. Spelling can easily be corrected - Creativity cannot. Is it the story I was hoping for - NO.
Is it real?
give or take some smoothing off of rough edges, I kind of reluctantly have to say yes. The general storyline fits with every hint and clue Scott and Lindeloff have given of the movie. It fits exactly with scenes that are shown on the NEW teaser trailer. As well as very smartly tying all the scenes from the original trailer into a cohesive timeline (there is the slight change of us seeing an escape capsule come from the prometheus as it is about to ram the derelict - however they probably changed the story on a redraft that Vickers ejected as the prometheus was on collision course) I hope I am wrong and the story is much grander than this script, but I do feel that this could be pretty much it. Sorry folks, its been great disecting all the possible plots the story could have followed over the last year or so - But ladies and gentlemen, I think that give or take some minor changes - This puppy is it........

GavinMarch 12, 2012
I disagree, look at my points made earlier in this thread. there are too many errors, mistakes and changes.

BiomechanicMarch 12, 2012
I agree with Snorkelbottom about the mistakes and inconsistencies but it was the bad dialogue that proved to me it was a fake. I mean come on guys it is worse than twilight.
artyohMarch 12, 2012
Dear Mr. "Terraformer,"
Please immediately kill the idiotic humans in this wee tin can, I'm sending you. Don't bother being creative about it, they deserve nothing more than instant extermination.
I mean seriously, I could write better dialog than what I read in this alleged "spec script."

flacnvinylMarch 12, 2012
I genuinely hope this is part of Scott's war of misinformation. It will be alot of fun to see how the new trailer fits in with this script.
Having finished reading it this afternoon, I was a bit disappointed by the ending. Maybe my fanboy nature is just way too demanding.
GuestMarch 12, 2012
im new to this site guys. very brilliant posts and threads. you guys are really intelligent in debating everything :D
I read that leaked script. I read it all actually. Now I'm going with it's fake because as others pointed out, its got too many errors. the dialouge is cheesy (but really good in certain areas) and has fantastic pacing but seems like the writer was writing too fast and maybe he had the spell checker turned off or the format he was writing on had no 'spell checker' plus he might be European as he uses British type spelling.
But fake or real i found it good in some places, stupid in others and laughable in others but scary in certain areas.
now pretending it's real for a minute so bare with me: it says 2nd draft, we all know 1st draft was written by Jon spaihts. Ridley said after reading Lindelof's rough script it opened a new door and they worked on the idea of the rough script and so there will be a 3rd draft or maybe 4th draft. it reminds me of the original Dan O'bannon scenario, great idea - bad execution and a rewrite turned it into a classic
BAD PARTS OF SCRIPT: almost everything was bad. The spelling mistakes are just unforgivable but maybe it's just a rough quick script which is meant to only serve as a basis for the story which will be later modified
GOOD PARTS OF SCRIPT: I like how nothing really kicks off till later in the story like Alien did. I liked the part of the prometheus flying into the planet in an epic 3D worthy montage.
The Orrery scene where David activates the holographic star map and discovers our planet is one of the many planets these SJ's terra formed.
The SJ itself which was done really well. It's god like presence could be felt throughout the script and it forcing Shaw to kill Holloway and giving a sinister smile was brilliant and creepy. Shaw being inpregnated in a weird organic room and giving birth. Now it's obvious she will be impregnated as shown in the leaked teaser back in 2011. I liked how it connected alien such as they discovered a warning signal being sent from a nearby planetoid (LV4-26) to the Derelict on Zeus. and the last part where we see a giant Xenomorph although i hope we dont see any in the film. Plus i loved the concept of the Xenomorphs creation which is quite smart i have to admit. I also liked the part in the script when they investigate the dome shaped structure and it's temple. and i liked the idea that the derelict is controlled by a giant biomechanical head.
Now that being said i do believe it's fake. But I'm open minded. but we got to remember the final draft or drafts were written by the guy who wrote alot of Lost which had the passengers surviving a horrific unrealistic plane crash LMFAO, a bald guy who managed to sneak a bag full of knifes and a big floating bag of smoke which kills people and rips trees of the ground. so who knows right?
but the leaker should be ashamed. He may scare off alot of eager fans from seeing the film. A lot of fans might take the script seriously and not go and see the film and will miss out on the most important and eagerly awaited sci-fi film in decades.

craigamoreMarch 12, 2012
Guys and Gals....since when does a legitimate film script need this at its beginning....
"We open on total darkness.
STUDIO AND PRODUCTION COMPANIES CREDITS"
They never do. That stuff is assumed. This Fake trailer, as I now definitely believe, is stating the obvious to the point of stupid. No hollywood script would have that in it....It's ridiculous.
centrosphereMarch 12, 2012
Some points:
Although it seems legit, I have some issues.
First of all: the script was released one day before the new teaser. It is an exceptionally well done interpretation of the scenes we have seen till now, but less so when we consider the teaser.
For exemple, it really seems that Prometheus will colide with the alien ship _ but some kind of scape pod is ejected from the ship before the collision, somewhat that is not in the script. Also, there is a scene of a guy holding two spheres that are the source of the red laser _ some kind of scanner, maybe _ so it´s clear that they are human artifacts, not alien artifacts as the script make us to think.
And the very end of the script seems exceedingly unlikely, given Ridley´s own declarations, also.

aintnozenoMarch 12, 2012
No way this is legit. Too many references to many of our discussions and official news tidbits are overstressed. Nice try by someone, but they were trying a bit too hard IMHO.
Someone is laughing at this thread right now...
centrosphereMarch 12, 2012
DarthSpockMarch 12, 2012
Ingenious.
Not what I thought the script might be, but also not surprising if it were the real thing…

T-Minus-FiveMarch 12, 2012
NNOOOOOOOOO!!!
I just finished reading it. I agree, I don't like the ending. Anyway...
I just have one point to make - why do they keep referring to the Alien space ship as 'the derelict' when a derelict is something that's abandoned, kaput, does not work anymore?
Just sayin'.
I think / I hope / It's fake!
TM5

craigamoreMarch 12, 2012
you have another clue as to its fakeness there T-Minus-Five.......derelict stupidity

dbMarch 12, 2012
I read it... All.
In the historic words of Billy Crystal...
"...eh."
It does a nice job of giving us a story that matches the images we've already seen.
Hope it's not the real thing.
I'll be sorely disappointed if it is.
Seems like the writer had never heard of flame throwers before... They got the most screen time.

Mr.JMarch 12, 2012
Some fan boy in in his basement, got bored whacking off decided he wanted to write a story and this is what we got....

"Voila" {From The French}

What a load of rubbish made up by a fan from speculation and rumours from sights like this,so if any of it was true not many of us would look forward to watching that c--p anyway.
I_HATE_AVP_AND_ITS_FANSMarch 13, 2012
hey guys im new to this site. haven't posted as much as I would like. the reason is, you guys have already debated every single picture and frame of this film. so I instead just listened to what you guys are saying and having fun doing so. I'm a member of prometheusforum.net and i usually check other sites to see if any new ideas are floating around. this leaked script was sent to the site i go onto and it was laughed off as soon as it hit.
call me stupid if you will but i read it and thought it was real and i began loosing faith in prometheus but everyone on that site and you guys have changed my mind. I say its fake too. my interest has sparked back up
now the reason i want to post is in case some eager fans read it and think its true. This leaked script may turn people away from the actual film and that would be a shame. remember the same happened with the fake synopsis, then the fake script 'Harvest or something' turned many people away and most of them havent came back.
so if anyone reads this dont be alarmed. it's a fan script and isnt the actual screenplay. my advice for any would be fanfic spoiler writers out there, wait till the Fricken TRAILER comes out before making one up lol.
as for this script, yeah its better than the other fanfics for prometheus but whoever wrote it needs to slow down, do several drafts, correct spelling and improve character dialouge. For example: when you're writing dialouge dont just make words up, let the characters speak as you would and keep the lines simple. i liked the premise
good idea but bad execution. if the faker took time and cleaned it up then MAYBE it would be taken seriously.
my sole reason for knowing that its fake isnt the spelling or dialouge mistakes WHICH is common in movie scripts. look up tarantino scripts and you'll laugh your asses off. but its the fact that in 1983 Ridley Scott said he would never return to science fiction unless he got a brilliant mind provoking script. so we can safely agree that this is fake. But what we will see in prometheus is: to put it boldly is nothing short of HISTORY in the making
AKA NateMarch 13, 2012
First of all, the spelling errors don't make it "fake". Early drafts have ridiculous amounts of grammatical errors ie 'Pulp Fiction'.... What make's this script an obvious fake is: 1) It's not a feature length script. It's too short. 2) The only parts that don't suck, are the parts where the writer obviously just took what they inferred from the teaser and fused the pieces together (fairly well), but no cigar. 3) This it's obviously written by someone with very little life experience ie a teenager or young adult. The dialogue between Shaw and Halloway are like two prepubescent teens asking "do you like me" .... Also, the rape scene? Really? Was it necessary or interesting? Stupid actually. Last but not least, ending is retarded.

I bought the new issue of EMPIRE magazine; awesome holographic cover and great coverage of Prometheus. The cast give their perspective on the movie and Sir Ridley Scott answers all the questions you could ever ask! Definitely worth the cash:

BigDaveApril 12, 2012
I have read the script and i think its not what the movie will be.
Maybe its a early draft, maybe just fake.
The final movie may or may not have some elements of that script.
A few things i have noticed.......
The Shaw C-Section does not quite match what we see in the Trailers.
There is no explanation or mention to the scenes where one crew member has the Worm/Eel crawl into the tear in his space suit. My money is on Fifield and he mutates into the creature that attackes the crew trying to burn something in the Cargo Bay.
Again Vickers apears to be on the Ship and ejects before it crashes into the Derelict, but in that script she is on the plannet.
There are a few more inconsistancies.
some stuff even if fake may be close, like how Vickers could want to keep Shaws Baby for the Company.
The Script seems to go along with Shaw being kidnapped by the Blue Guy and thats how she became pregnant with Squidy. Others think it was Holloway.
I am going for some other way and this would be the embaracing and shock value scene.
Dont forget the Script does not give any mention to the Tenticle that seems to be chassing Shaw... is that her Baby Grown up.... or the Daddy ;)
I read the leaked Thing Script not all but a fair share, and it indeed was near word for word spot on with the movie and trailers.
This leaked Script however has many holes and things missing from it that clearly are in the Draft.
If it is fake well credit to the writer as a bit more time spent on their story and worded longer and its not bad job, its one that would fit more with a Alien Prequal.
But i think the movie will be different and a little out of the box in how it will happen and maybe a risky move... i expect the un expected and a real Head $£"%
