MemberOvomorphMar-16-2012 8:13 AMI am hoping to see Prometheus somewhere on a big creen (with properly working 3D or not), with a crowd of (older?) die-hard fans who don't need to be told to turn off cell phones, who actually appreciate preview trailers, and who have enough self control to really get quiet once the main feature comes on. I remember doing this most recently at the Alamo Draft House theaters in Austin, Texas, where the flick (might) cost a little more but the crowd seems to get it. Imagine: packed house and EVERYONE gets quiet. I also miss the experience of the audiences shared anticipation of the movie. People's attention these days is so scatterred and it seems there is little so little courtesy payed by movie goers toward THE REST of the audience. I am hoping that an opening night viewing of Prometheus won't be a let down in these respects. Any thoughts?

MemberOvomorphMar-16-2012 9:12 AMI hear ya. I've grown to believe that much like having sex, watching movies is a task better enjoyed alone without having another twerp ruin it for me.

I have to agree. I don't go to the movies much anymore because of it. Prometheus will be my first time going to the movies in over a year! Wow...

MemberOvomorphMar-16-2012 1:52 PMNot sure I quite agree with doing it alone so much there Gehirn, but I get your point.
T-Minus, I rarely go myself. The big exception would be event movies on opening night. I hold out hope that the folks who are specifically for the opening night experience, who have braved the long lines or bought tickets earlier in the day for a late evening show on opening night are there to sharre the flick with other die hards who want to see it with folks like me who are there for the same experience. I just wish the usual riff-raff would wait till the following weekend. We can only hope.
Viddie well, oh me brothers, viddie well.

MemberOvomorphMar-16-2012 8:48 PMI hope that by going on opening night I will be surrounded by fellow fans who genuinely want to pay money and see the film. No teenagers hoping for Saw in space.
