Some tricky story elements, especially given the state of affairs encountered in the opening scenes (i.e. the radio transmission, the complication of the recently-integrated crew member 'Ash', the unclear nature of interstellar travel, etc.)
As expected, my plot seems to be nothing like that of the upcoming film 'Prometheus'. It did, however, prove to be an interesting exercise in story back-engineering, and - I think - provided some challenging fun for the players.
So, if you happen to be/have been a roleplayer as well as an Alien fan, you may possibly enjoy listening to the recorded game sessions which are available free at the capacious http://rpgmp3.com site.
And, since I have no actual affiliation with the 'Prometheus' production, it's a spoiler-free way to engage in the Alien universe in preparation for what looks to be a cracking film from one of the great directors of science fiction.
A particular fascination for many roleplayers is H.P. Lovecraft and his 'Cthulhu' mythos, usually by way of the licensed roleplaying game by Chaosium. There is, also, evidence that the original script for the 1979 film was - in part - inspired by Lovecraft, besides other sources (e.g. Italian filmmaker Mario Bava).
So, in a way, roleplaying a fan-written Alien prequel, which I call 'Alien0', brought together those elements.
