I must really thank all of you for being the main source of my online entertainment of late. Thanks also, to all you guys, for sharing your theories and thoughts on all things Prometheus. Maybe like most of you I am drooling in eager anticipation, waiting for the new trailer to arrive, my head quietly spinning with impatience while pondering further theories.
I wonder if anyone has had any thoughts or theories as to why the Alien Xenomorph that we see in the film Alien has the appearance and features that it does. We understand that from whatever biological species the Xenomorph grows inside that it bonds with its victims DNA and morphs into its shape while combining its previous victim’s shape/s.
There has been some discussion about the ‘Space Jockey’ being a humanoid (possibly the blue guy) inside a biomechanical suit. The biomechanical suite would (maybe) morph around him encasing him ready for intergalactic travel and navigation. Or he would wear a biomechanical suit that biologically and mechanically bonds with the pilot chair. Possibly then, the pilot, the chair and navigation system become as one lets say.
So I was wondering if the Xenomorph that we see in Alien could indeed be a combination of what it infected prior to the Space Jockey and the total Space Jockey including chair and navigation system?
Take a look at the pictures below and see what you guys think.

Portions outlined in green cut out and placed over Xenomorph for comparison.
