MemberOvomorphMar-17-2012 12:35 AMI know there's been a lot of conversation on here recently about the validity of Aliens and the affect it had on Ridley's vision. After reading through the updated corporate timeline on the Weyland Industries website I noticed this:
[i]Transplanetary Peacekeeping
As Weyland Industries expands their terraforming activities and colonial endeavors, the company is approached by the US government to begin work on the formation of a colonial peacekeeping force trained or populated by marines in the event of future conflict[/i]
To me this would indicate that Ridley is cool with Cameron's take. Personally, I loved Aliens as much as Alien and I'm glad to see them working some of the strands of both into Prometheus. What do you guys think?

MemberOvomorphMar-17-2012 1:20 AMSorry guys I don't care either way so take this from a non biased observer. That really means nothing. The test will be how well you handle it if there are no xenos or facehuggers in this movie or there is something the proves there is no queen in the lifecycle.

"Aliens" SUCKED a limp one. and NO "acknowledgment of a canon"
will EVER change that for me
if there is a sequel to PROMETHEUS,
and it happens to involve an aggressive military plot
hopefully Ridley would write / direct it,
and show Cameron and all his grunt worshippers how a
great sequel is crafted, and not merely replicated. just sayin'...
