Shaws body in 1979 alien!

God I give up!.... It seems a bit far fetched for me. Everyone seems to be clutching at straws to find some sort of connection to Alien. Ive not heard a good one as yet.

I'm thinking I see a hint of a mouth on the front of the thing. Tentacles would be its body, I suppose. More similar to the chestburster than the facehugger.

Yes.. I was coming up with the same conclusion... she gave birth to an egg.. but the odd thing is that it looks like she had a c-section, but left the umbilical cord attached, then put the egg into the swivel thing for some reason.. strange...

You see that figure moving in the top left of the frame? Haven't heard anyone else mention it.

"If she's female then the buster may be a queen" There is no queen in the original Alien story. I seriously doubt she is the space jockey. The ship is filled with thousands, possibly millions of eggs which could not be laid in that short of a time span by your alleged "Elizabeth Shaw space jockey queen"

Who/what is extracting the proto facehugger with the clamps? And in the upper left hand corner it's either a distorted reflection or it looks like an Alien imo

if you can get a close up of her stocmach in the HD trailer that's definitely a stitching from recent surgery.

I have the trailer in HD downloaded to quicktime so you can move it frame by frame, those staples are clear as day when you move the frames like that. I wonder how the vaginal birth would've turned out for her. Ouch, screw chest bursters, this movie has genital bursters. Giger must have been more involved in this than we were led to believe. LOL You know in the IMAX trailer it jumps out towards the screens right after it's extracted, so it must escape after this scene and that's when she tries to make it to David and Vickers to warn them and then collapses. The creature escaping from the Space Jockey's head in the leaked trailer looked just like this with tentacles. Same one? More than one? ( It was posted by Bellaisanalien a while back).

In one of the novels, Alien3 I think, Ripley is telling another one of the characters that the Alien on board the Nostromo was preparing to reproduce itself. The cut scene seemed to suggest that Brett was being slowly enveloped by a growing egg, fed upon by a larval facehugger. It would have been physically impossible for the drone on board the Nostromo to "lay" a full sized egg, so it had to deposit something like the earlier drawing, or attach some sort of small parasite on Brett that eventually cocooned and consumed him. If the scene in question is a facehugger being removed, then this is Shaw's death scene. In Alien and Aliens, any attempt to remove one of those usually resulted in some very bad things happening to the host.

It looks very much like an octopus or a squid!

my opinion is that the whole area is airborne with cells that infect the whole crew check out the guy looking at his eye ...he is changing !!!! that would leave it wide open for a queen and hunters to emerge ..then all the rest ..comes into place ....the thing in the capsule with the woman could be acting lick a fungi and releasing spores any comments on this theory ?

jc and biomechanic, this is similar thinking I used back in the 90's when compiling the alien lifecycle chart. Brett was injected or stung by the Alien with some kind of retrovirus that rewrote his DNA., Dallas was going to be the host to the new face hugger.

on the first frame of your .gif you can clearly see some kind of a umbilical cord going down from that embryo to her body like when a child is connected to mother after being born

My fear is that we will see Shaw chasing her baby ,,,to be honest i dont like the idea that much ... Its pretty clear that the protochestbuster/protofacehugger/protoegg is extracted from the belly as biomechanic say . two interesting notes 1) will be the first time that one is saved from being the host of an xeno in any alien movie ...we saw many promises before but ..everyone died ... 2) Later we see her to rebel against a medic...it would be interesting to think why

Biomeachanic, although I like your sketch, I think it's a little out, the extra tails are distortions in the glass, (I'm 99% certain) That close up definitely is like a less defined chest burster thrashing its tail, it would also appear to have an umbilical cord. becuase they want to carry the specimen back to earth while she is aware that they are dangerous ? Will be a bit of a lame plot but .... Surely she isnt happy about the situation ...and to prove that we see her almost alone in all the other following images .

warchild: I don't believe this theory of queen bursting through SJ's chest and laying eggs throughout the derelict's ship. Why? 1) eggs found in derelict are clearly stored there on purpose. They are aligned, they are protected by some green laser (probably stasis field). There is nothing random in it. Those eggs were stored there on purpose by some intelligent beings.

lol, warchild, there is nothing moving in the background, its just the blot on the glass. It is on the same place on the glass while the glass shield opens so it moves..

Im afraid you have brought up a very interesting detail. The eggs definately wouldn't have the laser field over them if just the queen went through there laying them randomly. That makes total sense. But my question is now maybe the android survives and rigs the place with that stuff and that's how lasers get there??

I don't think that's a reflection. Watch when the door moves aside. You can still see part of someone, or something, moving behind the pod that Shaw is in.

All I know is that this "Birthing" is very disturbing. That close up image really cleared up for me what it is that she gives birth to. Looks like a nasty alien squid. Kind of reminds me of the maggot birth scene in The Fly that totally freaks me out. I think maybe they have outdone the chestburster, very unsettling.

But we are all speculating that she is birthing. What if she is actually being saved. Where the claw is removing the face hugger/squid thing and that her scar is from the tentacle which was attached..... Also, is that a dark figure standing right behind the entire glass pod (not the shadowy reflection on the pod but actually behind it). That would mean someone might be using the control claw to remove the squidly thing.

I think it's interesting that all this is going on (Shaw giving birth) while other people on the ship are apparently going about their business. The scene where she stumbles and drops to her knees into the room with wheelchair-guy and the others must be right after she gives birth. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out - is she hiding all this from the rest of the crew, or is she part of some kind of experiment that some of them are in on? Can't wait to find out

from just watching the trailers and using my common sense it seems the story is like this.scientists find messages from our apparent creators twe go go find them using the star maps they have left behind ,when we end up on this the creators(space jockeys) planet we set off achain of events as if us going to find the creatorsis our doom , the derlict spaceship is the seeding ship which is heading to earth to wipe us out , in the clip it says there changing (refferring to the xenormorth shaped thing in the ceiling (new trailer 1minute 37 in)thi seems to be the xenomorth.theres more to this movie than just the usual , at the beginning of the trailer you can seee a human changing into something as well . shaw in the like whqt seems like an operating theatre (the sleeping pods are different look at the beginning of trailer )looks like that creature has been taken out using surgery or maybe being inplanted into ahost . this could be adifferent version of the xenomorph , or something completely different. the urns intrigue me more. the ship though is defo a seeding craft.

In the international trailer at 1:52, you can plainly see something burrowing into Holloway's eye.......something that looks like a much smaller version of what we see in this GIF. Perhaps Holloway infects Shaw through having sex with her, and the "tadpole" grows and matures inside her uterus. Judging from what Scott said in the wondercon interview, we're in for something every bit as disturbing as the kitchen scene from "Alien."

Its not a facehugger its what was inside shaw ,an early trailer leak showed her tummy pulsating quite a bit and the machine that is removing it is this one from weyland website timeline ,Weyland Industries earns patent number 16,572,092 for Method and Apparatus for the first fully-automated diagnosis and surgical station.
