Just some fun trivia to baffle your friends with... The TE Lawrence autobiography was called "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" SPW = Sir Peter Weyland After WW1 TE Lawrence joined the army again under an assumed name: "Private Shaw" TE Lawrence armed the Arabs with the Vickers machine gun (A corporate top gun?) The android David's name has its origins from two places: Alien 1 = Ash Aliens = Bishop Alien 3 = Bishop Alien Rez = Call .. it's alphabetic so the next one had to start with D David Lean = Director of Lawrence of Arabia. That was convenient. Can we tell from this that David is going to be the Alien progenitor?) (Where do those inner metallic jaws come from?) Anyway, IMHO, that's my take. I find exercises like this more interesting than counting the tentacles hovering over Shaws' head frame-by-bloody-frame... I do want to walk into the theatre and still be surprised...thx

I was trying to see if Prometheus showed up in any of Joseph Conrad's works. I couldn't find any link. Anything from TE Lawrance that includes something called the Prometheus?

TheSNARK - Well no exact connection to Prometheus that I know of, except TE Lawrence did translate the epic 'The Odyssey of Homer' under the pseudonym of TE Shaw, so he was very interested in Greek mythology and read it. He also went on archeological digs in Mesopotamia (now Iraq) to the first cities of Ur and Eridu. Eridu, by the way is one of the clues in the Project Prometheus viral site. http://www.projectprometheus.com/eridu/ Eridu was the first Earth city, created by the Annunaki gods from space (in the Sumerian creation myth). The central tablet that you see on the giant screen behind Shaw when she is putting together the connection between all the tablets - is from the city of Eridu ! PS. Why Conrad?

Nephilim_LV426: Nostromo is the name of a Joseph Conrad novel, and Sulaco is the name of the main town in that novel. Narcissus (the escape shuttle) is from "The Nigger of the 'Narcissus' ", another Conrad novel. Was hoping that Prometheus was somehow connected to him.

And Eridu is where they found the tablet of the Annunaki Tree of Life, which supposedly depicts the human DNA with all chromosomes. It seems Sir Ridley Scott might have read some of the ancient astronaut theories

This is not the first Ridley Scott movie with TEL references - In 'A Good Year', Russell Crowe amuses himself by doing TEL impersonations while trapped in the swimming pool.
