Ford freezing - potential spolier

I believe that it has a form of mind control perhaps and causing her to go into convulsions or they forget to turn the heat up. She's paralyzed by fear, I have seen that happen in people when I was in the military...

Yeah, I think the SJ is focusing in here and controling her....with his mind.

I'm a fairly large fella, but if a 13-foot tall blue dude stepped out of the shadows in my direction and I was millions of miles from home? I might "twitch" a bit at the event... Would you?

I kind of thought she might be another android. Maybe a new model like ash that they are testing on the crew. Weyland does that kind of stuff.. She has a unique look to her and didn't Ash act a bit spastic too?

I'm thinking she is either about to be squashed, or is wetting that cool blue suit at that moment. Or maybe both in the opposite order...

The person to Ford's right (our left) appears to be raising a weapon. And at the very end of the clip, they appear to sharply move to the left (the character's right) in a strange way. I don't know if it's how the clip ends or the panning in that makes it look like that... without more of the clip, it's difficult to say with any certainty.

Didn't she say in an interview that she was only in it for a while before being eaten by a skeletal figure?

Kronik both great parts of the "interview" and the "skeletal mostruosities" plot were totally fake , and there is no more any kind of doubts about that . Of course i think she will not last much in the movie :p ... BTW i hope there is not any kind of "mind control" .... already abused theme that is not scary at all

I'm with you on that Frantz. I find the idea of mind control to be a bit lame to say the least. I much prefer the idea of a creature that causes you to s**t yourself on site :-).

The previous comment got me thinking... maybe the "thing" isn't going after Ford, rather reaching for the guy on the left and he has to duck? Although I think way the hand moves and his "ducking" look odd if that's what's going on, but without more of the clip, it's difficult to say anything with certainty.

Looks like the guy on screen left gets grabbed or snatched by something from above.

I also think the character is paralyzed by fear and that she is not having some kind of fit or that her thoughts are being controlled by the Space Jockey. I believe that the crew has been trained to deal with dangerous situations , so they wouldn't have a fit. But nothing could prepare them for what they would find. The SJ controlling her thoughts sounds a bit cheap (no offense). I definitely hope that's not the case.

My money is on the big blue hand crushing Ford's head...would love to see that.

@astubbindeck - awesome picutre. Wasn't this done in Alien Resurrection: the Newborn turning Distephano head into mush. I'd sooner see less gore than more. I always found Lambert's death the most disturbing as you never see what is done to her.

I think something ..with a human hand ..is walking toward the helpless ford ...while the other guy is trying to stop him ....

She is convulsing NOT trembling. Something else happens to her. There is some hints of telepathy in the leaked script, and so far there is more than a few things in that leaked script ends up in the movie. EDIT: One leaked script contains a scene where a crew convulses before he/she is transformed into a mutated hybrid...

The hand doesn't appear to come from above I think that's just the camera angle. I think they're looking right at the jockey and ford shits it moves it's hand and maybe starts to walk towards ford and that's why the guy on the left looks like he's diving right maybe getting a clearer shot? I just think that it's not a huge giant hand it's the camera being right beside him.

I'd like to chime in my two cents. I've read the supposed leaked second draft script and there is a scene where Shaw is frozen in fear because she is under mind control of the engineer. It states she looks into his eyes and cannot move. Looking at this capture in slow motion I think this is the scene in question. If you don't like spoilers then don't read the script but the more I watch the trailers, look at pictures and read about all the details people are finding it leads me to believe that this script is pretty much the real deal plus or minus a few scenes during filming. If you google it you can read it for yourself. Despite having read this script I still can't wait to see the film. Oh, and if it's the real deal the whole thing with Shaw in that medical scanner and why she's in there is gonna make a lot of people cringe and maybe throw up. Ridley scared the crap out of us with Alien in 79 with the chestburster but it's been a long time since then so he probably has to step it up a few notches now...

Well, it's gonna have to be something really bad in that medical scanner to make me puke. The "Maternity Ward Scene" from the last AvP movie was about the closest i've come to barfing over anything in an Alien movie.

I don't think it's what happens inside the medical scanner, albeit I think it will be scary, it's what happened to her prior to her being in there. According to the script I'd say rape is not the right word but it's close...

The 120 A/2 always were a bit twitchy (ash,alien). It's look to be one of the space jockeys and obviously has her scared out of her mind or has telepathically put her into shock. This is likely the same dude who kicks the crap out of everyone in the loading bay of the prometheus and likely the same dude who activated the deralict spaceships gun or telecope or whatever object that is. Likely 9-12 ft tall and obviously stronger and smarter than the crew. It seems the guy on the left is raising a weapon to shoot the SJ. perhaps a flame thrower or one the pulse rifles shown in other post. Good find, I dont remember seeing this clip

looks like this is leading up to "Hulk smash"...poor Ford. I noticed she was drinking coffee during Holloways ancient civ speech...maybe the caffeine had her too twitchy to execute her exit strategy...

The camera is barely moving, if at all, but she is clearly moving [i]towards[/i] the Sj figure. Quivering while paralyzed, could be a natural reaction, but moving directly towards a percieved threat? I think it's probably mind control.
