So, I am just clarifying, I have watched the trailer, and this was my first post, so I haven't had time to know that it was a topic talked to death. Just wanted to know everyones thought on the AAT.

was discussed to death :p ... its anyway clear that it have a big influence in the movie :)

Most of the discussions on here are concerning this and you will find many, many theories and threads if you search through the forums. I'd post a link, but there's too many to post. Just look through and you'll find plenty.

I also think death plays a big part in this. The Weyland website seems to be focused on longevity and may very well be one of the inspirations for project Prometheus and it's travels. The search for immortality.

I think it;s pretty obvious from the trailer and months of speculation that the plot will certainly involve aliens visiting earth in the past. Watch the trailer, man!

Pretty sure AVP anything isn't canon. Love both franchises and original AVP comic, but those movies were soooooooooooo lame.
I may work for the company, but im really an OK guy.

I'm 99% sure Ridley won't have paid any heed whatsoever to anything related to AVP. Possibly even Aliens - remember that he doesn't even like the queen idea and in Alien - Director's cut presented any entirely different way of xenomorph reproduction

Already has Aliens material in timeline. AVP won't be allowed in bc it ruined the franchise. Yeah, they tried to bond it to Alien by using Weyland and failed. Thus there is a new founding Weyland in Prometheus. Rewriting that lame spinoff.

I think the opening monologue by Vickers would imply that the movie will go beyond the Ancient Astronaut's Theory into a story about man's unbounded ambition & the hubris of immortality. The "king" mentioned may refer to Weyland desiring to prolong his life using alien technology OR an alien "king" who needs warm bodies to rule the Earth once again. The second idea I find more chilling than yet another story about crazy rich dude with unlimited funds doing crazy shit (Richard Branson, Steve Jobs)

How do you explain the fact that Peter Weyland is the founder now? I can, they dropped those ideas. Agree on Aliens.

ADDITIONAL FACEPALM...
I can't argue with that. Though, I still know it won't be included. I mean....xenos running around in Colorado. Pure crap. I think Ridley would laugh at this possiblity.

Ancient Aliens, you say? I am completely unfamiliar with this concept. This board has been too preoccupied with how Michael Fassbender smells to pick up on that. Maybe you can explain to us this "Ancient Aliens" idea of yours. I'm intrigued.

Okay here's my stance on the AVP movies...
1. The story arc is complete, with the exception of the Queen at the bottom of the Antarctic Ocean.
2. Good premises, bad execution through bad directors and greedy producers.
3. Watch with your brain turned fully on and follow the beats of the narrative (ignoring the atrocious acting and such) and then you realise the original premises still remain and are good (also you should do this with the matrix and you'll discover something hidden).
...either way, Weyland Industries was in and only in AVP, its mention through the viral marketing states that the events, the beats of the AVP's is in fact canon according to prometheus (just ignore the end results).

Can't find anything on the Weyland Site. Will keep looking.
