What is that?

There appears to be something below the star cluster, above the humans... It seems to have a pretty prominent place in the painting and it doesn't look like anything I know. Also... 1) Why is it seperated from all the animals to the right? All the animals and humans look at it as if they're doomed or something. 2) Why do its ribs remind me of an alien? 3) It's not a horse because there are horses (and rhinos and a wolf/hog) depicted on the right of the drawing. Any thoughts?

That's not a buffalo, i'm quite sure. Cavemen are known for drawing realistic looking animals. Besides, it's front limbs seem too long, it more looks like an ape walking on all fours but with a horse's head or something.

@alien samurai, it could be, I don't know, but there's no need to get offensive or insulting. I believe it's a fair question since no one has yet gave me a specific answer what it really is. If someone would say: oh, that's an elephant or a tortoise, I would look into it, but so far all I get is: It looks like, or I think it's a... , and all the animals on the right look so familiar, and this thing doesn't.

Do you think,....hmmmm. Just tossing out idea's. Is it a sacrifice made to the "Gods" The other way to see it would be it's an animal that they discovered who's ribs appear to have a hole punched in them, whatever would do a thing like that? Also looking at the main figure in the painting, It's much larger than any of the other figures. It's also gesturing towards the constellation, is it saying, "I came from there, we all came from there." So there is no mistake I'm really saying, is that one of the Engineers, a depiction of one rather, or is it just another figure with no real relevance.

Looks like the big figure is gesturing at the big creature with one hand and pointing at the stars with the other arm/hand. Maybe they are ushering to go back to where it came from...

Well, the way to approach this to satrt woulkd be to ask where the cave painting is. The trailer reveals it to be a french cave painting. So.....what animal of that region would fit? Visually, I'd say elephant, but that isn't exactly french, soo...it's an interesting point....

What is that?
