MemberOvomorphMar-24-2012 10:57 PMI just watched the interview from Comic Con last year and there, our hero, says that there may be two androids in the movie. Now, David is an android, but if there is two - do you have a guess at to which character and/or the role in the movie?
Personally I think Vickers seems a little steril, but I'm not sure there will be two.

By the way ... he says that they are shooting as both PG13 and R (9:38) to keep both options open. To me, that sounds like the theater version will be "kids-friendly" and we will get an R rated version on DVD, because ... it's always about money.

MemberOvomorphMar-24-2012 11:05 PMIt is always about money and a PG-13 rating would appeal to a generally wider audience. But a R rating wouldn't be so far of a stretch. Look at Paranormal Activity, they have an R rating but have been making well over 200 mil almost every film. Nowadays it seems as though an R rating doesn't stop a WHOLE lot of the young generation getting into the theater, unless the employees at the theater make it a point to check the customers ID's and/or If an Adult brings people under the age of 17 into the theater, buying them their tickets. As long as kids under the age of 17 are brought into the theater with someone 18 years or older they are allowed in.

MemberOvomorphMar-24-2012 11:43 PMOr the blue guy ??? It (or he) looks kinda engineered, especially it's legs in the clip where Shaw is sitting and it is standing in front of her.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 1:59 AMThis flick was probably shot as a hard "R" rating, but the intention of providing a cut that meets a marketable prospect is pretty much appeasing shareholders of Fox.
In any case, the idea of "two" would make sense to play into the dynamic of a good vs. bad aspect. Hell, maybe the self-awareness factor of one artificial playing against the other creates this entire pattern of events that leads to whatever the fate of this team suffers.
Great dialogue on this subject started!

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 7:41 AMWhy not release both pg-13 and R versions at the same time for the theater????
That way people who don't like really strong situations can avoid them, and even possibly bring their kids. And of course the people who want to see a really intense scary film can get their satisfaction as well.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 2:24 PM1. Vickers is probably the second. There is the idea of 2 david as well, one earlier generation then the other but to believe that you have to get into really out there theories with no proof at all surrounding them but a bit of writing on a prop.
2. The film, according to the TV commercial is still not yet rated. I am assuming they are trying to cut to get a PG-13 as the vibe is totally does not look PG-13 in the commercials. Hell, any movie that has a distressed woman with an axe in tow looking like she is being stalked? That isn't really PG-13 material. I see an axe being used as a weapon in a Ridley Scott film and i think "R".

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 3:30 AMHere's an idea, Vickers is a replicant! Have nothing to back this up other than the fact that they want to connect the Blade Runner and Alien universe together. Here is another reach to help that theory..popular influential band in Britain, Dawn of the Replicants...lead singer last name Vickers.
