MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 12:53 AMI'm sure you all remember this early bit of insider info from April of 2011:
I asked the source to elaborate some more on the look of the aliens, and their resemblance to the aliens from the original Alien movies: "The alien heads were the same shape but no markings, only a plane bronze colour. As for the suits black boots and shoulder pads the rest was a Chelsea blue body suit could be for SFX, all the sets around the back of the bond stage have huge green chromokey maybe that's a clue. I have witnessed foam cut outs of unmistakable aliens all cut in half lengh ways so they could be in the floor walls etc and very much from the original film."
The recent data we have from the new trailers supports the last bit of this intel. A classic alien design "cut in half length wise" to be used in the ceiling of the derelict obviously appears. If there is proof of this information nearly a year after initially reported, whats to say the whole account isn't just as reliable?
I'm convinced there are Xenomorphs in Prometheus. I do not think they will be there throughout the film...but "at the end of the third act" most assuredly. You know Sir Ridley wants to 'own' that concept again. And to be honest, who can blame him?

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 1:25 AMI know for a fact that there will be "xenos" in Prometheus.
Even if they aren't the chestbursting/phallic-headed type... whatever the space jockeys are, they qualify as "xeno" (if "xeno" is short for xenomorph).
Xenomorph (if that's even a real word) roughly means foreign or alien form of species.

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 3:54 AMWhat about if the cutouts were for this scene? ... is it a dump site where old experiments are put? ... they could be either Alien or Jockey I suppose ... but that arm is looking more 'Alien' ... I have lightened the image up a bit ...
Dump Site?:

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 4:33 AMAnd there is definitely another arm upon the one you pointed out.
Parallel one...

MemberTrilobiteMar-28-2012 4:41 AMIf you look below the line added to the image you can see the upper body and head of a suited Space Jockey... These are not Aliens/Xeno's they are dead Space Jockeys.

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 7:50 AM@Snork ...
Yes I see it now ...
@Kalaghan ...
Yep see that also ...
What about if these Jockeys were basically 'fodder'? ... as in grown especially for these experimental purposes? ... similar to the large jars, containing progressive embryos, we see in the other Alien movies? ... they are of Bio-Mechanical origin so they could've been grown extremely fast from cellular level ... I know it means they were f**kin' with their own ... but are they trying to survive? ... cloning ain't new is it ...
ok that is a weird assumption ...
OR ... are we in for a bigger treat from Ridley? ... as in we ain't seen the MAIN character/s who are doing (were doing)/controlling all these experiments? ...
I have always reckoned the Alien Xenomorph contained the main element from the SJ's themselves ... because I always thought they looked similar in design ... you know the bodies looking like bones & tubing, etc ... plus their size ... Alien about 8ft? ... SJ what? 13ft? ... maybe the humans are meant for a different agenda? ... it's all about survival in the end ...
Damn I don't know where I get this sh!t from ... years (yeah loads) of SciFi flowing through my brains ... lol ...
Oh ... and the trailer for the 'body scene' Dump Site, is in:
Prometheus - Trailer 2 [720 HD] [18 Mar 2012] [iTunes]

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 9:54 AM@ boinker : the term exists only in the lexicon from the Alien films. That is to say, the xenomorph is the traditional design. It is a species, not another word for "foreign." Xeno means "alien" or "foreign," yes; but xenomorph is the biological endoparisitoid, the design seen in all of the films so far.
@ gem: that is an interesting idea and I have thought for a long time that Ridley has been purposely managing our expectations about the "alien" to ensure that we are surprised.
Everything I have seen so far in the trailers suggests this is a very, very strong tie in to the franchise. I mean, the year old intel seems right. Don't you agree?

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 10:10 AMand to clarify, the alien "cut out" i was referring to is the image currently on the "Prometheus Trailers" link at the top of this page.
