The ancient race

It seems that the bulky creature that is running and disappears may be a hologram, as part of a message perhaps? The being could be bigger than us, its hard to tell with no comparison. I do find it interesting however, that we have seen a lot of shots of this big blue man and some very visceral organic tentacle moments, not to mention the giant claw/lasso/hand thats grabs a crew member and inflicts paralyzing terror to another; all this, which provokes very disturbing feelings or shock and horror to the viewers. The one thing that truly unsettles me is what happened to this bulky creature we saw running and why was it running in the "recording"? If the blue men were not the original beings here, then what the hell is? The fact of the matter is; the unknown scares people, a lot more than what we see at least, and what we will see will be disgusting and shocking i hope. Could these ancient beings have wiped themselves out or come under attack perhaps (already mentioned i know)? Perchance this vessel was some form or Noah's arc on a cellular level that was corrupted somehow? Maybe the human form/DNA was made lethal and mutated, or maybe it was used against someone on purpose? If the end product was the effort of creating a weapon, then why? What possible reason would a whole race need exterminating for? And these monsters were not just designed to kill the crew of a ship surely. So maybe this technology was brought to this planet when it was occupied by life (hence the temples). so many questions... I'm getting a side-way semi just writing this stuff and cannot wait for the film to arrive, please let me know your thoughts. "Their right on top of us man!!!"
