New screen grabs from International UK trailer

Hey guys, I'm new here and I must say what a wonderful forum this is! Such excellent topics and discussions on the new Prometheus movie. Loads of great ideas and such as to what the new movie will be about. From watching the trailers many times I have been intrigued by a section of the International UK trailer that I haven't seen mentioned on the discussions as of yet (apologies if it has and I have missed it). It's a very small clip that flashes up for less than a second and to me it looked so ominous I thought it was worth investigating. You can see the clip at 2:06 on the International UK trailer. I have managed to get 4 screen grabs of this clip sequence. If you view the screen grabs first and then watch the clip you can make out more of what is going on. See below. The last being the shot of one of the crew having gas/something nasty in his helmet. Now its obvious that the first 3 screen grabs are of someones arm but the question is who's arm? To me from examining the armor and most specifically the glove in the 3rd image. It looks almost identical to the glove warn by the crew member with the nasty happening in his helmet. So I would say that it's probably a crew member. The arm looks almost like a testicle is braking free of the armor and then in the 3rd shot being pushed back in by the victims other arm/hand. What do you guys make of it?

I think it´s the very first thing of an facehugger. The organisms and the DNA thing is programmed to "attack/bound" to the host. I think this is a version of it.

Perhaps this is the same crew member under the glass with this......and im going to be as bold as to say that it IS this creature hanging above whoever is wriggling about on the table........could this be an earlier version of what will happen to Kane in 37 years time?

You guys have some great points. Thinking about you saying that it could be an early version of the face hugger. Makes me think that rather than the tenticle type creature breaking out of the armor that maybe this is where it is entering the armor to infect the host. It could well be an early version of the face hugger and a similar circumstance to what happened to Kane. Could well be the creature hanging over the table too.

I don't know about you guys but the whole parasite/dna mutation thing does not scare me....I mean Im not sure need to see the movie, but I'd rather these creatures were a little scarier than slugs... these ideas have already been sort of explored in X-Files, and I fear are a little outdated...again tho, it's all about execution

I didn't use any video software. I watched the trailer on youtube. Found the clip in the trailer and kept pressing the space bar to pause/play quickly. Once paused on each grab I used Alt + prt sc to get a grab of the screen. Then photoshop to import and save as Jpeg :)

Yeah I agree it would have to be something more sinister than a giant slug lol to be scarey. I reckon there is more to the creature than we have seen though and I'm sure as you say the execution will be awesome.

I will say......i found a bit thats now confusing me. Just after the glass pod that this thing is held above the persons face there are 4 distinct tentacles above noomis face.....its like 3 frames or something. Blink and youll miss it. I take it this is before the pod opens.....AND, the SJ in the chair.....in the trailer the armour or suit is actually coming OFF.....not going on, unless they deliberatley played it backwards. I dont think the SJ flies the ship at all now, i think he sets something in motion and the ship autopilots.......no no, im sticking with the fact that they played it backwards for some reason lol.

Hi Fehnris, Thanks for the beautiful screen grabs. I think it is Fifield under attack. (Mohawk guy) I think maybe it uses molecular acid for saliva to melt through the uniform. My second guess is Holloway.

Your welcome Outlander :) Yeah I think it looks like mohawk guy. Mark when you reply amongst the icons at the top of the reply box, the 4th one from the left is one that says "Picture [Ctrl + P]" if you hover over it. That gives to a dialog to type in an address to link a picture. It looks like the picture has to already be uploaded to some web hosting though. I haven't found a way to upload a picture locally.

Ok thanks. I think ive watched 2 versions of the full hd trailer. The one i saw has this clip just after we see the SJ in the chair. Noomis character is laying down but has her head lifted up inside the pod......4 tentacles dance about in front of her face for like 5 frames........also another bit in it thats not in the trailer on here is shes laying asleep on a table of somekind, she looks at peace......then shes approached by someone in a bio hazard suit, she pics something up and goes to hit them with it. I wonder if shes overpowered, placed in the glass pod but escapes it somehow, leaves the room in a hurry but stops to look back throught the glass in the door just as the creature gets there........which is the one where shes looking through the window. Something else i reckon is that when they find the dumdum head, she looks up and the blue glow on the ceiling is in fact the underneath of the SJ chair, which would mean that those containers on the floor will indeed become the eggs in ALIEN. Although the was no dumdum head in the cavern below the chair in ALIEN, plus we dont see the walkway (or whatever) that Kane initially slipped from in Alien.

What's odd about that shot is that most people, when they have a snake crawl into their arm, grab the site of entry and jump up and down. Whereas here, the "attacked" seems to be waiting around. So, how do you know that's not Weyland's arm (either from genetic self-modification or infection)? Would make sense if he was an alien: how could one man's company be responsible for AI/robots, cryogenics/dream state analysis, FTL travel, and the cure for cancer?

They do cover opening with the other hand in the last shot........remember this shot only lasts about a second in the trailer, perhaps not enough time to react.

The creature in the photos reminds me a bit of Giger's original design...bigger, uglier...

its in Trailer 2 HD on youtube...........also shows her waking up on a table and attacking a bio hazard suited person thats approaching her............also when she peers through the window and a tentacle wacks it shes still in her space suit.....although theres bloody fingerprints on the inside of the door.
