Well its function is obvious........the long elephantine nose is for getting to the bottom of a Maccy Ds thickshake.
Watched Alien last night and when the original SJ scene came on its nose actually extends down the ribcage and is fused to it.......also i noticed its rib cage is a lot thicker than this ones.
AND ive just thought.....Sir Ridley would think of this too i reckon>>>>
In ALIEN the SJ is what appears to be fossilised........in another post i suggested that the materials used for the chair, the suit and basically anything on board the ship is some sort of organic metal, which is how the urns could change to eggs.......well its only fair to say that this metal, when it dies, can also decay just like flesh.
After 37 years, without atmosphere, surely rather than rot it could somehow just turn into a hard leather that looks like its fossilized.
We now believe its a suit.....so perhaps the blue man just rotted and left the empty, matured suit.
Actually if the blue man IS the SJ ive been sold out cos i always wanted it to be an elephantine race........probably because elephants are peaceful by nature.

Well, it works simply by putting it on.
Its function?

i always thought elephants were jerks. they attack rinos and have been known to stampede villages unprovoked.
i was wondering about the nose tube too, why the new one doesnt connect to the chest, kinda weird.

@RC8
nice PS..I guess its the one from youtube, the speed painting.
Nice job, I only would just have made a different angle on the derelict, not frontal..
@noodles
yeah, definitley..or an alien head at least..bad for the viewer behind me of course..
@Mark
was discussed often before..the new SJ is smaller with shorter arms etc. I guess in ALIEN they just wanted to come as near as possible to Gigers drawings, as he designed and painted the model for the film, too.
fossilization is still a prob IMO. This only can be explained with quite different SJ races or similar..

It looks a littlebit that the SJ has grown out of the chair. Maybe its organic and the nose tube has grown out and together with the rest of the suit.
