The only thing i would assume is it would be Peter Weyland but saying that that TED Speech was in 2023 some 60 years before Prometheus which would put Peter at about 95 years old at least. Well actual actor is 44 Prometheus set in 2085 so that would make him 106 but that would assume he is suposed to be 44 at that confrence he could be portrayed as in his mid 30s instead. The Weyland Website does state Weyland was born in 1990 so he would be 95 when they land Prometheus Ship. But dont forget they spent time in Hypersleep and also who is to say that Weyland could not Hybernate himself for a few years here and there to protect against aging. Also Weyland site says average lifespan in 2070's is 95

I was thinking the same thing BigDave. Perhaps with curing cancer, longer life spans, Weyland somehow has managed to stay alive. Nothing else really makes sense.

Obviously, Weyland has infinite resources, and someone with his hubris would make Priority #1 being as "immortal" as possible, for unless you're alive, you ain't worth much in this Universe... So my bet is that he's "hanging by a thread" in Prometheus, but has genetically reengineered, repaired, and replaced himself to keep alive...and he's now desperate...

Thanks guys, but Peter was born i n 1990 and by 2004 had his first patent at age 14. I think Peter is one of the Gods...I'm just saying this because he far too advanced? Your thoughts>

Silica, good link. I assumed this was Peter ever since we first saw the images of 'the old man'. The only other alternative was the 'fast aging' theory, but most of that was speculation.

Do any of you think that this could have been a trap set by Weyland all along to get human "meat" for the Engineers in return for immortality?

Thanks, Freeze Him! It's just been etching at the back of my mind since I've picked up little things from the trailers and the conversations here as well as some similarities between what we've seen on the trailers and an old Doctor Who serial "Tomb of The Cybermen."

As long as we don't "read" too much into stuff. Then, us as fans are safe to enjoy what is to come.

Ok ... What about ... Prometheus is a rescue mission? ... Theory 1: Weyland was already 'out there' (before Prometheus) doing 'something' ... so they're off to save his arse from the planet because 'he' f*cked up ... somewhere? ... Then this proceeds into another of my other theories (after rading great stuff on here) ... Theory 2: I reckon the humans possibly grab one of the derelicts to escape the planet and try to get home ... but they crash land it by accident on LV-426 ... the other derelict gets smashed by Prometheus ... the basis of this theory is based upon the fact that the original SJ is NOW wearing a suit (after Ridley confirms this) ... so ... ANYBODY could've been in that suit and in that chair ... So by saying that we could now have a potential crew now onboard that ship ... David, WEYLAND (I'd like to guess so) and possibly a couple others maybe ... the reason they send out a signal is for 'help' ... this is because Weyland IS onboard ... Earth therefore pulls out all the stops (money no object) and go retrieve him ... hence why the company KNOW what's on that ship because of the signal ... Damn insomnia ...
