Yes can be very ..... an old rumor told that he was in heavy prohestetics ....and since hes a very old peter weyland that can be very true . ( the empire magazine confirmed that ) that scene in part of the hangar fight ... 2 are tryng to burn the mutant and there are those 2 mercenaries that exit from a door shooting ..behind them the old man helped by a woman ( ford ? ) and more behind another woman that look very like a sick shaw . ( also the mouth look very like Pearce's one )

I have done a slow analisis of a few scenes that all link to this scene. I dont think they are burning the Mutand as in Fifield. There are a group of Crew members with Flammers inc Vickers who are trying to destroy something on the floor by Torching in. Fifield Mutant ambushes they from off the ATV, seems to Kill or injury one of them and then start throwing the others around. Then the Mercs come running in and letting off shots at Fifield. Thats what i read from the scenes, but then what are the Crew led by Vickers trying to Destroy and why does Mutant Fifield attack is he trying to stop them destroying something i.e protecting it. Could it be escaped Shaw Baby Squidy, or some other Alien DNA related Organism or Work.

@frantz Same here, the mouth looks really similar... love the guns too.... although some people have said they look a bit tame....

It certainly is Weyland for me. IIRC, Scott and Lindelhof eluded to an older/mature Weyland to be in the movie, during their Q&A for the second trailer.

I agree, must be Weyland because they said they would be giving away too much of the plot if they keep talking about Peter Weyland's age and involvement in the mission.

Looks like Weyland made the trip to get a piece of the action

Here's a thought ... what if Weyland DID NOT go into CryoSleep? ... and the other crew members didn't know he was on board ... and David looked after him while traveling for the 2yrs? ...

yeah i think its him unless someone photoshoped it......but what i don't get is in that bit of the film clip were this pic is taken from a lot of things are going on if u watch the clip you see a dude jumping off that truck thing on fire and if u keep watching the clip and shop it just right you can see a space jocky with his helmet on picking up sum guy and sending him a cross the room..what i'm geting at y would he be there when thats all going on?.....

Just checked again and thats not Space Jockey its Fifield/Same Mutant who jumps off the ATV. Who i think is trying to stop the crew burning what ever they was setting on fire.

heres a little theroy to throw into the pot Weyland nearing death from old age , is infected by david, his pawn , with the goo in the hope it will extend his live and its him thats the blue guy ! I cant help it but every time i see the blue guy , i cant get the blue guy out of watchmen out of my head ?

I remember reading an article in which Ridley said there were possibly 2 Androids/Synthetics on board. One we know as David, the other would be Weyland. However, Weyland was not there under his real name, it was Stanley or something like that (He looks old and bald). I need to remember where I saw that and link it here.

Could be some cloning going on in this movie. Could be stunt doubles caught in the early trailers. Who knows...

@Franz... Empire magazine only speculated that Welyland was old man. The qutoe frome article is "a mysterious old man that nobody, but nobody, is willing to go on record about". they never confirm anything!

@reffugee I dont know, can you explain why my image of 'old geezer' dosent have holloway printed on his head? We know that something happens to at least 2 or 3 people anyway so for you to say Its not Weyland is a bit bold, you have to accept that it could be Weyland, just as I have to accept that it might not..

We cant be sure of anything ... some facial traits are classic of guy pearce but the resolution of the face is very minimal .Can be halloway too of course .... still the face look like pearce . Its difficult to place the Hangar fight somewhere in the story because we have no images of the two mercenaries before . i also think that vickers using a flamethrower is from another part of the movie ( its a bit strange that they will make her fight !! she is the weyland rappresentative !! ) My idea is that they are leaving the ship ( thats why the helments ) that is already with too many problems aboard ( mutants , tentacles , whatever )
